hot tub

Our little ladies are quite persuasive. As I was packing up to head home, they talked B into a dip in the hot tub. It’s one of their very favorite things to do. It is the most beautiful setting for a hot tub and so fun being surrounded by all that snow. I can hardly blame them for not wanting to get out.
The girls each received a new journal to write in and Gwyneth started hers with a list of everything she did over winter break. I love the hearts after every event. I love that she skipped right over #12. I love that her favorite part was spending time with family.

meeting savannah

Abe and Wendi are visiting from DC and we finally got to meet their little Savannah. She is just the sweetest baby. Annabelle and I fought our way through the meal over who got to hold her. Naturally, I won. I do love holding babies, but Annabelle puts up a pretty good fight.
Gus and Misti joined us for lunch and we had so many laughs. So many jokes. I’m so glad that Abe and Wendi will be moving back to Colorado next year. They are such good friends and although twisted and wrong, they keep us laughing all the time.
Gwyneth and the Godfather:
B and Abe…and a beer glass and maybe a baby over there too.
Annabelle wants that baby
Wendi is looking fabulous
FINALLY! Annabelle and Savannah.
I asked Gwyneth if she ever thought it would be fun to have a little sister or brother. “Nope!” she said. HA! She does enjoy the perks of being the baby of the family.

golden gate

We had a busy, busy day in the city! Here we go:
Gwyneth wanted fancy hair so I did this fancy little braided bun.
Everything is more fun with Auntie Becky!
Yep, this is what breakfast looks like with my family. I love it!
Off for a scavenger hunt. I don’t think they are enjoying the sunshine.
Alcatraz. Just the view, we didn’t visit this time. Sometime I will take my husband there, sometime….
The girls getting out some energy. How about that view?
How could that end badly?
Lily just takes the paparazzi in stride:
How cute is this girl?

All the Paz girls together!

After lunch Madison, Gwyneth and I walked to the Disney Museum. It was a beautiful stroll and I enjoyed the one on one time with these little ladies.

We met up with the rest of the crew to explore the Disney Family museum.

There goes that Auntie Becky again, always being a lot so much fun.

Back to the Ritz to get ready for dinner. Gwyneth wanted a new bun and of course we added some sparkle.

Dinner at Morton’s

So stinkin’ adorable!

christmas with the cousins

My sisters and I alternate every year where we meet and this year it was San Francisco for Christmas. We are very fortunate to be able to get together every year and our girls love their time with their cousins.
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and the girls received gifts from Poppy and Melissa.
They all received microphones — but fortunately no batteries!

plane ride

We hitched a ride with Poppy and Melissa to San Francisco. I’m not gonna lie….there is just no other way to travel. We are spoiled rotten!!!  We will be crying about this on our way home while we are fighting for our seat on Southwest. But we’re just going to enjoy it while we can.

happy christmas eve

We had so many order roll in this year at the Kitchen and B was really busy. The pick ups were from 2 – 6 pm on Christmas Eve. We did our best to keep up with our family traditions and also be so, very grateful for the business we received. We are so blessed and thankful.
I took the girls over to Build a Bear to get new outfits for their reindeer. I thought since we wouldn’t be buying new animals it would be cheap…well, cheaper. Well, it wasn’t. I am a sucker and enjoy this tradition. I will be sad when they outgrow their stuffed animals, dolls and dress up so I may encourage it more than I should.
We joined B at the Kitchen and opened our family gifts.
Annabelle may have enjoyed her gift from Gwyneth just a little bit….
Sweet sibling gift exchange.
B decided to forgo making dinner for us, after making dinner for everyone else in town…. I guess that is understandable. Gwyneth decided she really wanted Chinese food so Gus and Misti joined us for dinner at Heavenly Dragon. Now that is a pretty great Christmas tradition!
After dinner we exchanged gifts. Gus and Misti continue to out due themselves every year. I don’t know how they manage to keep topping themselves, but they really, really do!
Yeah, that happened!
Wine glass that hold an entire glass of wine!
My gift — I’m not sure what says about me, but I won, so whatevs!
Beer glass that holds four beers. Yeah, that’s a good idea…

bmk: christmas cookie decorating

I hosted my first cookie decorating event at the Kitchen. It turned out great. So many sweet, sweet kids. We made so many cookies and played games and did crafts. I tell ya, this is the absolute best job I’ve ever had. The behind the scenes work involves long hours and lots and lots of work, but the hosting part is a lot of fun. I’m lucky when my friends bring in their cute, fabulous kids. Life ain’t bad.

cupcake countdown

Let the baking begin!

B added my cupcakes to the holiday menu and I received so many orders. I was pretty surprised, but I was excited to get baking. I got lots of practice done today. I even made a few mini tasters for my girls.
Vanilla bean cupcakes and chocolate/chocolate cupcakes with candy cane crumble.

After a busy, busy day — have I mentioned that is extremely difficult working from home and having two little ladies off school for winter break??? It’s really, really hard, but anyway — we joined a big group of friends at Old Chicago to watch the Bronco game. It was such a nice break from all the madness. Look how many little kids we crammed in to a single booth. Pretty impressive huh?

bmk: december kids night out

Gwyneth is on the mend!! Finally! Fingers crossed for a healthy and happy holiday at our casa.
I recruited some help from Miss Annabelle this morning. I had to make cupcakes for Kids Night Out and she is a super helper. How about these pjs? Avalanche t-shirt and leg warmers? Oh my, Annabelle, oh my.
We made lots and lots of cupcakes — yum!
Tonight was our first Kids Night Out at Blue Mountain Kitchen. It went great! The girls were so excited to spend the evening with friends and we have received so much support from friends. The kids were great — in fact it was almost eerie how sweet and kind they all were behaving. I expected some running and yelling and screaming, but no. All sweetness. What the what?!?!

lyle the crocodile

Gwyneth woke up this morning assuring me she was feeling better. I wasn’t quite sold, but she insisted she was fine. I could tell from her eyes that it wasn’t true. She had been on her antibiotics for more than 24 hours so she was no longer contagious. We had tickets to see Lyle the Crocodile and she talked me into taking them. My little ladies are quite persuasive.

We got home and I just knew this girl wasn’t doing well. We went back to the doctor and she has an extremely stressed muscle in her neck. She couldn’t move her head and her eyes were so red from exhaustion. There was nothing they could do except send her home to rest.
My poor sweet girl. She just can’t catch a break.
We made it back just in time for Annabelle’s Friday dance performance at dancing school.
Don’t judge my parenting — this wack-a-doo poses herself like this!
