Happy Halloween!

Annabelle’s 2nd and Gwyneth’s 1st Halloween! We enjoyed celebrating the evening with friends. Sarah, Gus, Amy, Tammy, Toya, and Consuelo came over to have dinner with us and help hand out candy to trick or treaters. Annabelle was the cutest little duck and Gwyneth was a little ladybug – although Gwyneth didn’t go out trick or treating this year. Next year we’ll take them both.

After the girls went to bed, Gus & Amy stuck around for a few more drinks.

Happy Hour with Jen

Jen and I were able to sneak away for a quick happy hour before I have to head back to work. It will be hard for her to get away for a while also because basketball is starting again soon for Jeff. She’ll be very busy with her kids! We met at Las Margaritas downtown which was a blast from the past. I haven’t been in quite some time. We had a lot of fun nights there when we lived here the last time.

Bad Hair Day

My girls have crazy hair – especially right before bath time! Annabelle was trying to lay on Gwyneth while I was taking these pictures. Miss G thought it was hilarious. She was belly laughing!

Very serious 3 months

Miss Gwyneth Grace is a very serious 3 month old. I took her to get her portraits taken today. She is definitley going to be my trouble maker! While the photographer was in the room, she refused to smile and as soon as she walked out she would belly laugh. She gives me looks that seem to say “don’t mess with me, I’ve already got this all figured out!”. Is it possible for a 3 month old to be defiant??? I guess I should call my mom and ask because Miss G’s attitude definitely seems very familiar to me. I get such a kick out of her and love watching her grow. It’s hard to believe she’s already 3 months old. It’s hard to imagine life without her but then sometimes I remind myself that less than 16 months ago it was just me and B. My, my how life has changed at the Meyer house!

Getting close to Gwyneth’s first Halloween… My girls are “FRIGHTTFULLY CUTE”!

Our little love bug

You can’t find a cuter duck!

I think I’m a bit more excited about the costume than Annabelle…

The girls spent Friday night with their dadda while I went to bookclub at Toya’s. It was fun to see the bookclub gang and catch up. I didn’t finish the book because I just couldn’t get into it, but as usual the conversation didn’t stay focused on the book for too long. Phew!
Saturday morning Annabelle & I went to her music class and then we played around at home until it was time to go visit with Sarah. Annabelle is still such a chicken and is terrified of all pets including Sarah’s cats! So silly. We had a nice visit though and then went over to Jen’s house to celebrate Reagan’s 1st birthday. It was a costume party and the girls looked so cute in their costumes. Annabelle waddled around as a duck and Gwyneth looked as sweet as can be as a ladybug.

Sunday afteroon, Gus & Amy came over to watch football. We had a blast and will see them again on Friday for Halloween. We finished off the weekend with a family BBQ at Cindy & Carl’s to celebrate their little-baby-girl-on-the-way. Cindy is due at the end of December. We can’t wait to meet her little one for our girls to play together.

Happy Girl

I snapped this picture this afternoon and everytime I look at it I just crack up. Gwyneth is such a funny baby! She is smiley and happy (now that we have her reflux under control). We are so lucky to have two such good natured daughters. As Diane says, who would have thought?? 🙂

Rock Bottom

We overslept! Like I’ve said before we don’t set an alarm anymore – we rely on the girls to wake us up in the morning. Well, at 7:45 we finally heard from Annabelle! We scurried to get ourselves up and ready & get Annabelle dressed for school. She has breakfast there at 8:15 so we were a bit rushed. We decided this week was a good time to start getting in to our routine for when I return to work. If it goes anything like today we’re going to be in trouble. Needless to say, come November 3rd the alarm will be set! Gwyneth woke up at 8:30 ready for the day. We had breakfast and then she relaxed most of the day while I finished cleaning the house and getting caught up on laundry. I’m in last minute mode for getting everything accomplished I had hoped to on maternity leave – I already have a sweet little baby girl who eats and sleeps on a great schedule so #1 mission accomplished!

We met Sarah and Mary Ann for dinner at Rock Bottom. It had been a few weeks since we’ve seen Mary Ann and she was surprised by how much the girls had changed. She gave them cutie “Little Monster” tees for Halloween. Sarah sent us home with some wonderful muffins as well!

When we got home Annabelle headed straight for her babies. Her new phrase is “Good Girl”. If she does something she believes is worthy of praise (climbs on and off the couch, puts her baby dolls in bed, puts her milk down without throwing it, etc) she says “Good Girl” and then waits for us to agree! She’s such a nut.

Ahhhh, so relaxed!

B and Annabelle gave me a gift certificate for a massage for Christmas and I finally got around to using it today. It was great!! It was well worth the wait. B watched Gwyneth during his lunch hour so I could sneak away for the massage. It was so nice of him to let me get away during the day for a bit but I have a feeling he didn’t mind too much since he got some quality time with GG.
Annabelle has turned in to quite the toot around dinner time. When she gets home from school she is starving and tries to climb in her booster chair as soon as she walks in the door. We’re going to have to work on her dinner schedule when I go back to work. Princess Meyer may have to learn to be a bit more patient. 🙂 She spent another evening playing with her babies…except tonight, instead of the dolls B decided to put the girls in the Moses basket and she thought that was the best. We even tried to put the dolls in with her and Gwyneth — she was not having it. She wanted it to be just her and her sister! It makes me so proud to see how much love she has for Gwyneth.

Gwyneth had a great day and was in such a good mood! I suppose that comes from sleeping 1o hours (how lucky are we???). She played with her playgym and slept so well. I think she might be ready for me to go back to work. I’ll miss her so much when I can’t hang out with her all day. She has a great smile and laugh. She saves her good belly laughs for when I change her diapers which makes my day!

Football Fun & Fall Leaves

What a great Sunday! We headed down to Jennifer and Keith’s for the morning football games. It’s been a while since we’ve seen them and my goodness, how much Jack has changed! He has gotten so big and is walking so well! He is so cute – all boy. They invited Amy & Andy over also – it’s the 1st time we’ve seen them since they announced they are having twins. They are having a boy and girl due March 14th (Stacy’s birthday) but they will probably come sometime in February. The Carlson’s gave Gwyneth an adorable ladybug towel with her name on it and Andy & Amy gave Annabelle twin baby dolls. How well they know our girls! We had so much fun…B, Jennifer, Keith, Andy & I are all in the football pool together. Jennifer is the only one who has won this season, but I managed to keep my trash talking to a minimum.
Chriss, Paul, Nathan and Jocelyn came over to our house that evening for dinner. Aunt Chriss raked the leaves in the front yard into a big pile for the kids to jump into. Annabelle loved it! After a roll in the leaves, we had dinner — Cincinnati Chili! B loves it and I was glad to have more people to share it with … fewer leftovers! 🙂
