Where’s the Bear?!?!?!?

Gwyneth ate cereal for the first time! She is a great eater. She opened up, sayed ‘ah’, and the majority of the food even stayed in. Not a lot came out! She wasn’t so sure about the cereal, and I forgot how unappealing it is, but it’s a great first step. She’ll be starting on fruits and vegetables next week.
B continues to shock me with his devotion to getting the KBCO studio C CD each year. This morning he was up at 5:15 and out the door to go wait in line. I tried to text him when I got up with the girls but his poor fingers were frozen so he couldn’t write back much! He waited in line, in the cold until 8:00 a.m. when the doors opened and the CD went on sale. He was able to snag a CD for himself and one for Sarah (there only make 30,000 so they are hot commodities around here). He got home, slapped the KBCO sticker on Annabelle and they danced to the lastest KBCO creation.
Jennifer, Keith & Jack stopped by and the kiddos got to play for a little while. Jack is getting so big – he is just all boy and cracks me up. It’s really fun watching him and Annabelle grow up together. Their 2nd little guy is due in just a few weeks so Gwyneth will have a Carlson buddy all her own soon enough!
Since B was up so early we ditched our plans for the evening and just had a lazy Meyer night at home. He was able to get in a good afternoon nap with Annabelle & Gwyneth so the night wasn’t a total bust! 🙂
B hung out with the girls tonight so I could meet some friends for dinner after work. I was supposed to meet them around 4:00 for an early drink and then we were going to hit Lime for dinner and margaritas. Unfortunately I got sucked into a project at work and couldn’t get out of the office until almost 7. The night was not a loss though – I did manage to sneak in a drink with Melissa, Sheila, Consuelo, and Jessica. (Jessica just got engaged and her fiance met us too!). We even ran into Toya who was downtown for the Parade of Lights. That girl loves her parades – so she couldn’t be persuaded to join us for a drink and ditch the parade.
B and the girls spent the evening playing with shoes! 🙂 Annabelle loves her shoes and she had so much putting them on Gwyneth. B even took some photos for me. What a good husband!
Wow – getting Annabelle’s picture taken has become quite a chore. She no longer sits still so it’s a challenge to keep her sitting or from walking away. She was non-to thrilled to get her picture taken with her sister this past month but we were able to snap a few cute ones of the two of them together. Gwyneth was really sweet and I think she knew I was at my wits end because she just smiled away for the photographer. Next year should be even more fun when they are both running around!
Christmas – Finally! At the Meyer house we don’t get very excited about decorating for the holidays so it’s always with a little bah-hum-bug that we drag out the tree, ornaments, and decorations each year. (B will have it all down by the day after Christmas if I’d let him!). This year was a bit more exciting because Annabelle was really into the tree. We had the tree lit when she walked in the living room and she was full of “oooooh’s” and “aaaaah’s”. We have two picture ornaments with her little face from last year and of course those were her favorites! (She is so much like her mother sometimes. ha!) We hung those low so they didn’t stay on the tree for very long. She wanted to carry them around with her – she even kissed the pictures of herself. My goodness!
We have found that Gwyneth no longer likes to be in her bouncy seat. She either wants to be sitting in her bumpo so she can take it all in or laying on her tummy plotting her get-away. As soon as you lay this girl down on her back, she instantly flips to her tummy! We really didn’t expect that because of her reflux but she’s constantly surprising us. Gwyneth hung out in her bumpo and enjoyed the lights while Annabelle grabbed her shades and microphone and gave her a mini rock-star concert. They were both belly laughing – they crack each other up! Gwyneth is able to grab onto things really well and the girls were even holding hands last night. I wish I could have captured a photo of it – it was priceless. I’m such a gushing mom!
B and I have finally got hip with technology and have set up our DVR. So sad we waited this long. My mom insisted and bought us the gadget for Christmas – she gave it to us a bit early. We set it up and DVR’d the entire season of Entourage – there was a marathon on Saturday so we got the entire season – and Top Chef. It was so nice to be able to play with the girls and get them in bed tonight and then sit down, relax, and watch Top Chef uninterrupted. The nice thing is that you can skip through the commercials, but the silly thing is that the show was on 3 times in a row last night & they constantly show reruns so we would have been able to watch it eventually anyway. Oh well, a little tv luxury isn’t so bad!
It’s been a good season of Top Chef but doesn’t look good for me in the pool. My contestant, Carla, looks more and more like a bird each week. I think she has something going with the desserts but I still don’t think she’s got a chance of winning. Melissa (B’s contestant) was in the bottom 3, looking very manly and trying to sell out the other guy on the bottom – not good. Danny (Tammy’s contestant) is a total goof! I was embarrased for him this week. Good news though – Erica’s contestant won for the week. I like her and hope she sticks around for a while.
Annabelle is on the go and so is her furniture. We got her a little table to sit next to her rocking chair so she’d have a place to set her snack and milk. She cracks us up because she just takes it with her around the house. She’s a maniac and we think she is so funny. Doesn’t she know it!!
