realization: i’m lazy

We survived the work week! I managed to get in and out of work on time and pick up G on time everyday. Mission accomplished! I was really stressed about taking care of it all on my own – I realize how lucky I am to have B and how much he does around the house and with the girls. I guess at heart, I’m just really lazy and would love to be able to lay on the couch and watch “Wife Swap” all day! Perhaps in my next life… or maybe I could find someone who has that life and do a “Wife Swap” with them?!?! HA HA!Gwyneth and I had a great week together. She is such a sweet little baby girl. She is rolling like crazy these days, sitting up with support and laughing at everything. She is quite the talker too. She just jabbers non-stop which I absolutely love and can totally relate to! We had wonderful mommy-G time and now we’re ready for B and Annabelle to come home!! 4 days is way too long.
Happy Birthday, Mary Ann! We look forward to seeing you & the rest of the gang next week.

Mommy & Gwyneth Night

It’s really quiet around here without B and Annabelle! Gwyneth and I had a nice quiet evening and although we really miss them it was nice to have a little one on one time. Only one little baby is so easy. 🙂 The only struggle is getting to and from work along with drop off and pick up from daycare. I worry about making it on time and fear the dreaded late fee if I pick her up late. It doesn’t take much convincing for me to leave work a little early for this little face though.
Gwyneth loves tummy time! As soon as you put her down on her back she flips right to her tummy.

The cutest, chubbiest Paz cheeks in Colorado! I think she looks a lot like her Poppy – without the mustache, of course.“Dinner time! Carrots, again?!?! I don’t mind!”

Chicago-Bound

B has to go back to Chicago for work so Madison convinced him to bring Annabelle with him. She wanted both girls but she was only able to convince him to take one on the plane with him by himself! Annabelle is going to have a great time with YaYa, Auntie Becky and Madison.

B sent me this cute little photo from the airport. Annabelle is indeed happy to be going to Chicago!

You can tell they are sisters!

A lot of people tell me the girls don’t look anything a like but I always thought there was a resemblance. I dug up pictures of them around the same age and I think Annabelle looks more like B and Gwyneth looks more like me. Gwyneth wins in the hair department – much more and much darker. They have the same nose, perfect little lips, and blue eyes. You can tell they are sisters and since they are so close together and Annabelle is so tiny I think people will mistake them for twins (not identical, of course) soon enough. I’m a lucky momma with these two cuties.

Carrots

Gwyneth had her first taste of carrots tonight. Since she has reflux:

carrots = bright orange spit up!

She ate a bit, she liked it and it seemed to stay down fine. A little bit later B was down on the floor playing with the girls and YUCK – bright orange all over Dadda! Even Annabelle said – “OOOOH” but she laughed and I think she was happy she wasn’t the recipient. Later this week we try green beans. Let’s hope Dadda learned his lesson so they don’t both end up big green messes! 🙂

It’s Freezing

We woke up this morning to find a blanket of snow and freezing temperatures. It was literally zero degrees when we woke up and by the time we got the girls up and ready to head out for the day it was negative two! No fun at all. We had to run to Costco and the girls were so bundled up you could only see their littles eyes peeking out of the all the layers of blankets, hats, gloves, coats, etc.

Not everyone was as adventurous as us about venturing out today. Costco was pretty empty when we first arrived. What a treat for Annabelle though – she loved sample day! She ate & drank everything she could get her hands on – chocolate chip cookie, ravioli, chicken alfredo, pizza, red chili sea bass, spinach baklavah (sp?), chicken noodle soup, spaghetti with marina sauce, rice pilaf, and eggnog!! They were only sample sizes but it was a lot of food for her little belly – she even went back for seconds of pizza. She was a big hit at the store as she was all smiles that she got to eat on the go instead of being strapped in to her highchair and we just let her shovel it in.

Brad, Noelia, Colton, and Lauren came over to watch the Bronco game with us in the afternoon. Austin had to stay home and study for his finals. The kids played in Annabelle & G’s playroom – the diner is a big hit! Colton was the waiter, Lauren was the chef and Annabelle was the patron – when they could keep her sitting still. She really liked feeding her baby in the highchair and sitting at her big girl table. The Clingmans are headed to Florida in a few days. They are so so lucky to be getting away from this cold!

Gwyneth and Annabelle both had applesauce for a snack before going to bed. Annabelle ate an entire bowl – I don’t know where she is putting all this food these days? G was not so sure at first but once she got the hang of it she decided it was pretty good stuff.

Avalanche Game

I received tickets through work for the Avalanche/Blackhawk game & Chriss was so nice to come to our house and watch the girls so B and I could go together. We had a really good time at the game – even though the Avalanche lost. This was the 2nd time in one week that the girls got see their Aunt Chriss and boy, did they love the attention!!

Poor Tammy!

Sadly, I never cared for Tammy’s TOP CHEF contestant but I was hoping he would hang around a bit longer for her. Danny got the boot tonight and he was on the same team as my bird lady. No money for Tammy this season in the pool, but I can’t gloat – I don’t think my contestant will be in it much longer. Once again, Erica’s contestant won this week – just in time for Erica and Curtis’ big move back to KC. I’m disappointed I haven’t been able to see them in Chicago before their move, but we can’t wait to head to KC next summer for their wedding.
