La Fogata

Meyer family fun night was spent at La Fogata my favorite Mexican restaurant in Colorado. They have the best chili rellenos. Annabelle and I shared a combo and I had a relleno and she ate an entire bean burrito! She really put it away – She loved it. I think we have the same favorite restaurant.

“Annabelle, are you full of burrito???”“Will you pose for the camera?”

Where in the World is Madison?

Who would have guessed she was in New York with Matt Lauer?!? Becky, Madison, my dad and Melissa spent Madison’s spring break in New York and boy, did they ever do it right! I sorted through the approx 800 pictures they sent and decided to post these two because they are my favorites.

My niece is a busy little girl so maybe my sister should start her own blog so we can keep up with them??????

Meeting Ann Curry
Getting Matt Lauer’s autograph
She is a lucky little girl and how cool is she in her little city hat? Too cool for school!

Teeth

I was finally able to capture a picture of Gwyneth’s teeth! Her bottom two middle teeth have poked through and are so stinkin’ cute.

GG and her chubby loveable cheeks and her monkey. She loves her monkey and it’s almost as big as her! Annabelle gave it to her for her baptism.

rock

Annabelle and Gwyneth rocked out to American Idol tonight! Annabelle’s dancing was cracking GG up. I’ve never seen her laugh so hard!

Mad, Angry dance skillz
“My sister is hilarious!”

Snow, snow, and more snow

We got dumped on! In our neck of the woods, we got about a foot of snow. Annabelle and GG wanted to get out there and play in it but it was way too cold.

Look who’s learning how to stand on her own….

The weather outside is frightful
but inside it’s so delightful!
Let is snow, let it snow, let it snow!

8 months old

It’s hard to believe that Gwyneth is already 8 months old! It’s amazing how quickly she’s grown and changed before our very eyes. Here are some highlights of the fabulous life of GG…

Likes:

  • her loving and very attentive big sister
  • meal time – she loves all fruits, veggies, and meat. There’s nothing she won’t eat.
  • biter cookies for teething
  • rolling, army crawling, and getting into as much as she can
  • her monkeys
  • dancing – the girl has found her groove
  • splashing around in the tub with her sister
  • her books – sometimes she prefers to chew on them rather than reading
  • DADDY (wrapped around her little finger!)

Dislikes:

  • getting her hair done
  • getting diaper changes and dressed
  • getting her toys stolen by her sister
  • being hungry – she has some lungs and lets you know she’s ready to eat

GG is such a sweet girl and has really come into her own. She has found her own personality. She is so fun and we find ourselves just sitting around watching to see what she’ll do next. Everyday with GG and Annabelle is an adventure!

8 months old!
Some books are better chewed
Love those cheeks

“If I can’t see her then she can’t see me, right???”
Doesn’t get much better than this…

toothless?

Well, at least not in this house! After a lot of chewing, drooling, and a few fussy nights, Miss Gwyneth has teeth! She flashed a big ol’ smile last night and we saw that the bottom two middle teeth had finally broke on through. She looks so stinkin’ cute. I’ll do my best to get some pictures of those pearly whites soon!

Side note – my sleep schedule sucks! I know, with two kids under two it seems reasonable, but the girls are great sleepers (down at 7:30 p.m., up at 7:00 a.m.) so motherhood is not to blame at all. I drag all through the day due to lack of sleep and I’m exhausted by the time I get the girls down to bed. Around 8:00 p.m. I get my second wind (on some days – my first wind, really!). I feel wide awake and then can’t fall asleep until well after midnight (last night it was about 2:30 a.m.). Of course, I’m not doing anything remotely productive but have managed to read a few books with all this newfound free time. I finished The Reluctant Fundamentalist which started off really good but got a bit dry for me at the end. I’m about 3/4 of the way through Escape which is the true story of a woman who escaped polygamy. Very good! My lack of sleep is making me a bumbling idiot during the day as I’m too tired to articulate my thoughts in an intelligent way. I can’t even offset that with being ‘well-read’ because I’m just reading mainstream, pop-culture novels. Yawn, yawn, yawn!

I made poor B watch the first installment of the Twilight series with me Monday night. I didn’t make it a secret that I was not impressed with the first 3 books in the series so I was settled in for a night of self-torture. It was a pretty cheesy movie, but overall exceeded my expectations. Luckily Mrs. Fessler recently watch it and liked it too so B is off the hook for the next movie!

Old friends

Jordan & Jenny are headed to China on Monday for the next 3 years. They are going for Jordan’s job and hope to return to Colorado but nothing is certain. Miss Melissa babysat the girls Saturday evening so we could stop over at their going away party and wish them well on their adventure. I’m really glad we were able to celebrate with them and send them off with our well wishes.

Dan and family were in Colorado visiting his dad and were able to stop over and visit for a few hours. Dan’s oldest, Inez, is almost 3 and his twins, Irene and William, are just 6 weeks younger than Annabelle. We woke Annabelle up from her nap after an hour (she usually sleeps 2 1/2 to 3 hours) – the kids got a little time to play and Annabelle was excited for the company but she was a little fiesty due to lack of sleep.

Jordan is a friend from highschool and Dan is a friend from college so this weekend was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends!

Here are some highlights from our weekend:

Annabelle showing the Silverman’s how to handle twins – with the ones they gave her. Piece of cake! 🙂 Although she does carry them around by the neck sometimes so we shouldn’t let her get too arrogant.GG – our little love bug – ready for a nap and a bit annoyed that the camera is in her face.
Saylor Twins getting so big

The girls loving playing together.Looking sweet at can be in their pj’s.

Girls’ PJ Party

We ordered in Chinese for dinner tonight because it’s Annabelle’s favorite. We were getting plates prepared when I looked over to see that Annabelle reached up and grabbed an egg roll right off the table and started chowing down. She loved it and cracked me up. B hung out with us through dinner and then went off to meet some friends to watch basketball. I decided it was time for us girls to have a pj party. We all three got in our pj’s and read books.

All Irrational Rants Rewarded Here

I received quite a bit of feedback about my post regarding my extreme love of donuts. I got emails, phone calls, and texts and everyone seemed rather entertained and empathetic. The true reward from my rant arrived on my front porch after work today. I came home to find a flash frozen box of diet friendly donuts sent by Melissa!! And wouldn’t you know it, there were Boston Creme in the package!!! How did she know those were my absolute favorite??? 🙂 The donuts came from Holey Donuts and are delicious! I only felt slightly guilty scarfing down my dessert this evening while Annabelle stared in disbelief at the tiniest of slivers I cut off for her.
Thank you so much Melissa for not only the sweet sweet treat of guiltless donuts but also for checking in on me, B and the girls and continuing to read my blog even when I post some really random and long winded rants!!
Stay tuned for my post regarding my obsessive/bordering-on-unhealthy-love of St. Louis style pizza (I’m pretty sure Imo’s will freeze a pie and ship to Colorado) and the sad sad sad state of my vehicle. Wink wink!
Thanks again, Melissa! The donuts will be truly enjoyed and I fully admit my sharing will be done quite sparingly.
