nuggets vs pacers

B received 4 tickets to the Nuggets/Pacers game for Christmas so our crew headed down to Pepsi Center for the game. Of course I made shirts for the girls — it’s what I do. By the time baseball season rolls around they should have a personalized tshirt for every occassion.
We didn’t know what to expect from the girls. Would they like it? Would they sit still and watch the game? Would they be interested? ALL OF THE ABOVE! They had a blast.
Annabelle loved the dancers. She kept asking “where are the dancers with all the sparkles?”. She also informed her dad they were just like her and that’s what she looks like at her recital. Hmmmm….I’m glad she likes to dance, but I’m fairly certain there will be a bit more constraint and costume material at her recital.
Gwyneth clapped her hands, danced, and kept a close eye on Rocky the entire game. She loved it! Absolutely loved it! She joined in for all the cheers and chants. We definitely have a lil’ Nugs fan on our hands.
The girls made it through the 3rd period, but it was 8:00/their bedtime so they didn’t quite make it to the end of the game. They were asleep in the car before we hit the freeway!

new neighbors

They don’t live next door, but the Fessler’s moved very close to us. We couldn’t be happier! Tuesday was the big moving day so Laney and Cade came over to hang out with us for the night. I see many, many fun nights like this in our future. Welcome to the neighborhood Fessler crew!

hats off to gwyneth

Miss Gwyneth got a new hat. She loves it. She won’t take it off. She wears it when she eats. She wears it when she sleeps. Thank goodness she looks so darn cute in it. That hat is here to stay.
She will definitely not be happy with me for this picture, but how could I resist? It was freezing outside, but she showed her fashion sense with her hat, undershirt, Dora undies, and flip flops. Rock on G! Rock on!

So, you noticed the undies huh? Yeah, Miss Gwneth decided she didn’t want to wear diapers anymore. She threw them all in the trash and moved in to big girl underpants. She potty trained herself! She lets us know when she needs to go and even stays dry overnight. I had planned on taking next weekend to focus on potty training her, but that just didn’t fit her schedule. She was done with diapers so she just did it herself.  Miss Gwyneth does everything in her own time and she always, always surprises and amazes me. This girl keeps me on my toes.  However did I get so lucky with these two?

surprise – yaya is here!

Thankfully our YaYa-withdrawal didn’t have to last for long. YaYa suprised the girls by flying in for the weekend. They were thrilled!!! They got to stay up late Friday night and pick her up from the airport with me, we went to the planetarium and watched the “Little Star The Could “, we explored the Science Museum, we had blueberry pancakes for DINNER (breakfast for dinner? what????), Gwyneth got a new hat, and the girls got lots and lots of love.

cookie time

Our last night in San Francisco was spent relaxing and making cookies with YaYa. We had such a great trip. I probably overstayed my welcome — with two little girls 8 days is a long trip for anyone to endure us — but I loved every minute of it. I really enjoyed having the time away, spending so much time with my family, and watching little girls run around everywhere.
Gwyneth continues to sing “Happy Birthday to Maeva” and asks daily “Where’s YaYa?”. Annabelle informed that Maeva is her cousin and her very best friend. Fills my heart!

piggy party

Maeva is a big fan of the Three Little Pigs. My sister threw her a Three Little Pigs party including a puppet show! It was amazing. I made up a printable party  for her and my mom and I cut out and decorated everything – piggies everywhere! The kiddos loved the puppet show, feasted on pizza, enjoyed cupcakes and made little pig puppets. I’m so glad we could be in San Francisco to help Maeva celebrate.

golden gate bridge

After a grueling work week, B finally arrived in San Fran. Just in time to spend New Years Eve with us! We were thrilled to see him and he helped offset but of course not balance the boy/girl ratio in the house!
While the girls napped and played with YaYa and Madison we took a ride with Becky and Darnell. We went to see the Golden Gate Bridge and drove along the coast. Gorgeous!

YaYa and Madison watched all 5 girls as well as Harry and Olive who live next door so we could go out for dinner. YaYa is amazing! She had her hands full. I’m not sure we can ever thank her enough. Happy, happy New Year! We’re looking forward to what this crazy year has in store for us….

san fran bound

With 2 suitcases, 2 backpacks, 4 baby dolls, and 2 little girls in tow I set off for my first solo flight with the girls. I knew I could handle the girls on the plane on my own. I knew they would listen and behave well for me.

Their.Dad.Was.Freaking.Out!
Oh, husband of little faith. As it turns out the girls did great. Played with their baby dolls the entire flight. No fussing. No fighting. No whining. I’m pretty sure I deserve the mom of the year award for taking a 2 and 3 year old on the plane by myself. If not for the year, I’ll take the “Mom of the last week of December” award. That’s legit right?

We spent 8 glorious days with my mom, sisters, brother-in-laws, and nieces. We celebrated Christmas, Maeva’s birthday and rocked in the New Year together. It was quite a festive visit and the girls had a great time playing with their cousins.

definitely naughty

After a delicious dinner and a very relaxing, wonderful day, B went and threw in a load of laundry and I started putting some of the Christmas gifts away. Hmmm….so who’s got an eye on the girls and the cupcakes????

Clearly no one….

Good thing they have 364 days to get back on the nice list!

santa was here

Best. Christmas. Ever.
The girls woke to find Santa had left them quite a stash of gifts. He must have thought they were pretty nice this year. It took the girls about two hours to open all their presents. They played as they went and we just let the morning drag on and on. It was wonderful. Nowhere to go, nothing to do except relax and enjoy the day.
The girls watched Beauty and the Beast and took great naps. We made “Happy Birthday Jesus” cupcakes and exchanged goodies with the neighbors. We had a Christmas feast of ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, asparagus, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. We never got out of our pj’s. I could not have asked for a more perfect day.
Merry Christmas!!!
