hiking princesses

We headed up to the Peak 8 Fun Park and rode the super chair up to the top of the mountain. It was a beautiful day and the views are stunning. My girls are super practical — only their fanciest princess dresses to go hiking. So silly.

On top of the world

My little princess on the chair lift. She informed me “If we fall off this chair we are going to bust our heads open” My thoughts exactly little lady.

we love rosie

Gwyneth showed Miss Felix around the Butterfly Pavilion. Of course she was not scared to hold Rosie. Curtis took a turn also. He didn’t love it, but he wasn’t chicken (unlike others who shall remain  nameless).Gwyneth and Rosie had a delightful time watching butterflies together. We had lunch at Wildflower Inn and enjoyed curry and chips, reubens, clam chowder, burgers and mac and cheese. Delicious!!

happy birthday, bria

The girls joined Bria to celebrate her 5th birthday.  They ate lunch, got lots of candy from a pinata, had cake and ice cream and enjoyed some time in the pool. It was a fun party and I’m glad we could celebrate with Bria and her family.

yaya is back

YaYa’s flight was cancelled due to electrical issues at the Midway Airport. It was a hassle for poor YaYa but we got to visit with her for an extra two days!We blew up the pools and relaxed in the backyard. B met Tom for drinks so we got to have dinner for breakfast!

fancy nancy

My girls love crafts. The Merrill’s gave Annabelle a  Fancy Nancy craft set and the girls were thrilled. Annabelle set to work right away making pictures and writing letters. Luckily she shared with her little sister so there was peace in the Meyer house.

ariel party

Miss Annabelle requested a Little Mermaid Party this year. We blew up the pool, turned up the the sprinklers, threw together some food, and let her and her friends loose in the backyard. We even had a visit from Ariel! Annabelle was in awe and hung on her every word.
Everyone seemed to have a great time especially Miss Annabelle!!
Scuttle’s Goldfish Treats and Prince Eric’s Pirates Booty
Ursula and Sebastian Ham and Cheese Sandwiches and Chicken of the Sea Salad Sandwiches
King Triton Candy Sushi and Ariel’s Seashell Pasta Salad
Fabulous Ariel cake from Little B Bake Shoppe

 Water Balloon Fight
They all ganged up on B. They got him pretty good!
Present time. Such generous and kind friends.

The girls with our adorable and perfectly sweet neighbor, Francesca.
Showing off her bling from Gus and Missi
Annabelle woke up the next morning and asked me “did Ariel come to our house yesterday?”. I said yes and she replied “oh good, I was worried it was all just a dream.”. Now, that makes a mommy happy.

brave

I inherited my love of going to the movies from my mom. Naturally we took the girls to see Brave on opening day. I liked the story line and it was good for the girls, but it was a bit violent. Gwyneth got a little scared, but in the end she liked it and Annabelle wants that long red curly hair!

swim day

YaYa is here!! We are excited to have her here for mine and Annabelle’s bithdays. It’s going to be a hot week so we spent her first day here cooling off at the pool.

addams family

It was family night at the Theater so we took the girls to see the Addams Family. I have to admit I have never seen the shows or the movie so I didn’t really know what to expect. The one thing we all knew and liked was the opening song with the snapping. That got the girls excited and we snapped our way downtown.
We had dinner at the Corner Office, a trendy restaurant across from the theater. With your theater tickets kids ate for free and along with their meal they received cotton candy for dessert. Can you imagine? Cotton candy for dessert. Well, this place is my girls’ new favorite!

We had a private balcony for the show, which I have always, always, always wanted to sit in. The show was very funny, but a little old for the girls. There were some colorful jokes and a few curse words so I was a bit surprised they offered it as family night. Luckily the jokes went over their heads and they were mesmerized with the singing, dancing, and costumes.

dollar store

Gwyneth loves going to the dollar store! It’s her very favorite thing. She used her Bucket List choice to go spend her $10 at the Dollar Store and was thrilled. It’s great to see the girls negotiating, sharing, adding, subtracting, and using wonderful manners.
