shuffleboard tournament

The tournament was on this year and there was plenty of trash talking. We were joined by lots of friends and had a great time! Unfortunately the last time I played was probably last year’s tournament so I better get practicing for the 3rd annual.
My dear friend, Lisa couldn’t make it so Chad subbed in as Don’s partner. They won the whole thing and I think Don was pretty pleased with himself!!

little shop of horrors

The girls stayed with a sitter and we joined Abe and Wendi for a delicious meal at the Corner Office and then  a show at the Phamalay theater. It’s a wonderful theater where actors with disabilities are given an opportunity to act. We saw Little Shop of Horrors and it was an amazingly funny and entertaining show.

winner winner chicken dinner

We joined the Lodden’s and the Tyler’s for a dinner adventure at White Fence Farm. I had not been since Jen and Jeff’s rehearsal dinner over 10 years ago and this was the first visit for the girls. The meals are family style and they are known for their fried chicken. It was a very tasty meal and very, very kid friendly.
After dinner we got to explore the grounds which includes ponds, a playground, a petting zoo, and a little barnyard blue grass band. It was a wonderful time with wonderful friends!

Sheila, the girls, and Steph – Sheila’s nanny for the summer.

Bunch of little crazy maniacs!

Thanks Aunt Jen for the lollipops

kindergarten check up

Miss Annabelle received four shots and a clean bill of health to head to kindergarten this fall. She was really excited to go to the doctor and talk about kindergarten….that quickly changed when she learned she had to get shots. I took the girls by myself to this appointment which may be one of the very first times I’ve had held them for shots. B usually does that and I swoop in with hugs after the shots. I think I’ll stick to that routine from now on.
Before the shots. An after picture just seemed cruel.

more bowling

We are really taking advantage of the $.99 bowling this summer. B loves to bowl and is thrilled that the girls are so in to it now. They don’t want any help and they can do it all by themselves. With the little ramp they make it a close game. B beat us this time, but we weren’t far behind him.
It appears Annabelle is hitchhiking, but she’s really just giving her last turn a thumbs up!
Of course, every princess curtsies after a strike!

After bowling we took advantage of Kids Eat Free Night at Lazy Dog. Even a princess has gotta eat.

princess gwyneth

Miss Gwyneth requested a Beauty and the Beast birthday party this year and I wanted to make a photo invitation. She got all dolled up in her Belle dress and I had no problem capturing a few keepers for the cards.

We were heading bowling afterwards so both girls wanted pictures in their bowling gear….Miss Annabelle in her Easter dress and Gwyneth in her Dorothy dress. Are there girls out there just wear jeans bowling??? I don’t think they’ve been introduced to my daughters.

quesadillas

The girls had an afternoon playdate with Emma and Rosie and for dinner made their very own quesadillas. Either these quasadillas were absolutely delicious or they played really hard because they cleaned their plates.
Darron and Kristen joined us for dinner of homemade carnitas courtesy of my fabulous cook hubby. They were delicious! We spent the rest of the evening catching up and playing Hand and Foot. Darron and Kristen introduced us to this card game last time we hung out and now we are hooked.
Kristen is a phenomenal baker and made me a caramel apple spice cake for my birthday. It was such a wonderful treat! I’ve been eating it for breakfast all week!

independence day

What a delightful, relaxing 4th of July. Erica, Curtis, and Felix went camping and then came back to spend the day with us. We had a delicious lunch at Steuben’s and then headed to Tiny Town. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out at the house and letting the girls splash around in the water. Fabulous day!
