We grabbed dinner at BJ’s and then cracked up at the comedy club. The evening was a charity event sponsored by the Salvation Army. All donations were given to the Salvation Army and a share of the proceeds from the evening. There were several great comics and by the end of the night my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. Success!

The girls received a gift from Sarah, Gwyneth’s Godmother. She sent a very sweet card and Gwyneth requested it be placed right by her stocking. That made me smile.
Sarah also sent the girls the game Traffic Jam. I had never heard of it, but what a great game to really challenge their little minds. Annabelle spent hours playing. She got me sucked in too!

Always wanting to do what her older sister is doing, Gwyneth was not pleased that she had to wait an entire year for her turn.
Annabelle and her buddy, Morgan. They are in the same class at school together. They are equally goofy and silly and I’m sure they are quite a handful together. They think they are hilarious….and they are!

Gwyneth picked out her own outfit for Sports Day. A girl with a baseball cap and a tutu. Tomboy? Perhaps not.
Annabelle had her holiday dance recital. They did an adorable little ballet dance to the snowflake march from Nutcracker. Miss Annabelle woke up with a stuffy nose and it has progressed through out the day. She is not feeling great, but the show must go on….Actually, I feel really bad about taking her to the performance because I didn’t realize how stuffy and crappy she felt until I saw her dancing. She did a good job, but you could tell she would have rather been home in her pj’s.
At dinner last night, Annabelle invited Gus and Missi to her performance today. After the dance, Gwyneth invited them to dinner with us. We’re going to have to teach these children about boundaries…wait, who am I kidding?

christmas pageant
The girls performed in our church Christmas pageant this morning. Annabelle was an angel and had a little speaking line. Gwyneth was a sheep and sang a song. They both did a great job and looked so darn cute.

I volunteered in Annabelle’s kindergarten class today and I brought this craft for the kids. They loved it! They were all very eager to make their picture frame and their teacher is going to take their picture as a gift for their parents. I also got to join Annabelle for lunch. What a hoot these girls are eating together in the lunch room! She has a great group of friends at school and I’m happy to see her having so much fun with them.
After school we went to sing Christmas Carols at a local nursing home. Gwyneth was quite a little leader, jingled her bells, and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. Annabelle was upset to see some of the people in wheelchairs and was worried about the residents. It was hard for her to get in the Christmas spirit when she saw some of the sick residents, but Gwyneth told her she just had to sing louder. To be four again….so sweet, so wise.
We joined our church tonight for a potluck dinner and puppet show. The kids in the youth group performed the puppet show and the girls thought it was hilarious. Annabelle is going to participate in the next round.
braids
Annabelle had her kindergarten assessment today….which was at a horribly timed point in the year as well as a horribly timed part of the day. This is my busiest time for work and I hate being stressed and anxious when she has a day off school. She had to go in from 10 – 11 so it deterred our plans from heading downtown to a museum. So, what did Annabelle request….she wanted her hair cut and braided. That I can do! And she loves it and she makes silly faces and she makes me really happy. This face makes me put that stress and anxiety away…at least until they are in bed and I can find some time to work.
