fish

Annabelle’s Brownie troop spent their afternoon stocking the shelves at FISH, the local food pantry. I love seeing this group of girls together doing great work for their community. We live in a wonderful area and the outpouring of donations and support is inspiring.

art

After their art program today, Brielle joined the girls back at our house for a playdate. She’s a sweet little girl that lives in the neighborhood and both my gals get along with her fabulously. They spent their afternoon riding bikes and scooters and playing Barbie dolls.
They are definitely get use to this dance spring break and enjoying a little bit of freedom.

paint and park

This week the girls had school but were on Spring Break from dancing school. Don’t get me wrong, I love that they are in dance and that they are taking many, many classes, but a little break is always nice.
The girls each had a friend over after school today and painted in the beautiful sun in our backyard.

This was the 1st time I had met this friend of Annabelle’s. When I picked them up from school she said “You’re Annabelle’s Mom? Huh, I thought you would be taller”. Me too child, me too. (Gotta love 2nd graders!)

These two! Seriously!

My poor friend Liz was not feeling well and her husband was out of town (not a cold, but two trips to the ER not feeling well). We swung by after dinner and took her son, James to the park. He is such a little character and the girls had a blast chasing him around.

Look at he go:
Love the upper body strength (95% impressed, 5% insanely jealous)

Feeling fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. A gorgeous view of the mountains is just off to the west, but this is pretty fabulous life in this direction too.

happy easter eve

We had two birthday parties and catering today and we were exhausted. But there is always room for more fun with this crew so off we went to the hotel to play at the water park.
We have a fabulous tradition of staying at a hotel with the Hales family for Easter. This year we remarkably got our acts together and made it happen. The hotel had an indoor pool and water slide. We had a blast and the girls swam for hours!

happy birthday: bella

We celebrated Bella’s birthday with her at Blue Mountain Kitchen. She had a cupcake wars party and the kids came up with some very creative cupcakes!
My goodness, how long these girls have been friends!!!
I just want to squeeze those little cheeks!!!! Just three years old. My how the times flies!

radical 80’s

The girls rocked their 80’s looks for spirit day at school. Sadly, these clothes were purchased yesterday and are actually on trend. Ouch! I think they looked adorable, but I see absolutely no reason for the 80’s looks to make a return. The fashion was NOT totally tubular.

daisys: bowling

We have four different schools that feed into Gwyneth’s girl scout troop and naturally they have different spring break schedules. We scheduled an optional, fun meeting of pizza and bowling. Quite a few of the girls were able to attend along with some of their siblings. My gals had a blast and bowled their little hearts out!

lavendar

Back to school!
Spring break is over and it was a good one. We got right back in the swing of things with homework and our routine.
We painted nails tonight and I told Gwyneth that her nails were a lovely purple. She said “no mommy, they are lavender. Lavender is my signature color.” What??? Oh yeah, I may say stuff like that. I may quote Steal Magnolias. We may be having bleeding Armadillo Grooms-cake at this girls wedding.
Annabelle is quite the little reader. We are working our way through Harry Potter together. She’s a little worried that it’s going to be scary, but she loves it so far. She also checked out a Fancy Nancy book from the library. Diverse tastes for this little reader and I love it.

canada bound consuelo

It’s beginning to look a lot like Easter around here.
My dear friend, Consuelo, who we have known for many, many years is moving to Canada. She met a man, fell in love, and off she is moving to marry him. She will be greatly missed but we’re so happy for her adventure. Today we hosted a brunch to say goodbye and can’t wait to visit her soon!
Annabelle snapped a picture of us all together. A little blurry, but she’s 7. Come on.

spring break: cinderella

The girls got Easter pictures taken this morning. I rewarded their beautiful smiles with donuts.
This was just a whole lot of sugar. Both little ladies got about 1/4 of the way through and tossed them. It was even too much sugar for them. Woah!
We had lunch and saw Cinderella at Cinnebar. Gwyneth has been so eager to see it and of course, loved it.
