B watched Annabelle in the evening so I could meet Noelia for a movie. We decided to see “Wanted” the new action movie with Angelina Jolie. It was not at all what I expected but it was really good! B and Brad will be disappointed we went to this one without them. I don’t think they’ll mind though since it’s usually a trade off for golf.
Before I went to the movie I got to play with Annabelle and feed her dinner. She loves pineapples and mac and cheese so she really enjoyed her meal. She got a hold of the remote and has learned to point it at the IPOD to change the song. She must have been watching her dad! We were given quite a variety with her flipping around but she finally settled on the radio – KBCO. Our girl has good taste!

berry applesauce
Miss Annabelle is showing her independence these days and has no interest in being fed by us. She wants to take control of the spoon and what a show we get when she does. She still really loves applesauce so we found some sugar-free mixed berry applesauce for her to try. It was a big hit! Although a large chunk ended up right on her cheek, she did manage to get most of it into her mouth. The bowl also remained on the tray and didn’t get chucked over the side into a big mess on the floor so we consider the snack a success!!
Annabelle is very proud of herself and gives herself an applause!

1 year check up
We took Miss Annabelle to the doctor this morning for her routine one year check up. She is weighing in at 17 lbs 8 oz. Her weight, height, and head measurements are in the 5th – 10th percent. The doctor says she is growning normally and her development is right on – she’s just a petite little thing! Our goal is to now wean her off the bottle and transition her to table food and milk. She is a pretty good eater these days so hopefully it won’t be too difficult. We’re hoping to break her of the bottle before the baby arrives or that could be trouble. She did have to get 3 shots which didn’t make her happy but she fell right asleep in the car. She usually does pretty well after the shots so we’re hoping she’ll be in her usual good mood when we pick her up from daycare this afternoon.
1st birthday party
We celebrated Annabelle’s 1st birthday with an ice cream bash in our backyard! We set up a sundae bar on the patio and each of the kids (and most of the adults too!) made their own ice cream sundaes with all different toppings. Annabelle got to enjoy vanilla ice cream with strawberry topping and let me tell ya, she enjoyed it! She scarfed it down. It was a gorgeous day, thankfully, so we set up an octopus sprinkler, mini/pool sprinkler from YaYa, and a wading pool full of rubber duckies from Diane and Rob. The kids spent the rest of the party playing with the water toys in the backyard.
portraits
We took the girls to get their pictures taken since this is the 1st time all 3 of them have been together. Annabelle was not in the mood. She usually does really well getting her picture taken but she was not really having it this time around. Maeva and Madison were smiling away but Annabelle kept trying to crawl out of the pictures. We did manage to get a few good shots of all of them together and Stacy even talked us into doing one with all the girls which included me and my sisters.

Ultrasound & Paz’s are here!
I’m 34 weeks and we went in for another ultrasound today. Since I have gestational diabetes they checked to make sure the baby was not gaining weight too quickly. They confirmed we are having a girl (Yah!) and did a few measurements. She has really long legs (where did that come from?), has a peanut head like her mom & sister, and weighs about 4 lbs 12 oz. They are predicting she will be right around 7 lbs when she is born. She is actually a little smaller than Annabelle at this point in the pregnancy which really surprised me. It was great to see her moving around in there. She is really sticking out far – the ultrasound tech and the doctor were both surprised to see how far forward she was sitting. That also made me feel better because I get so many comments about how big I am right now. We have another appointment in 2 weeks and then an ultrasound scheduled for 4 weeks which is just days before the baby is expected to arrive!
After a bit of a delay, Stacy & Maeva arrived tonight! They had a late flight to begin with but didn’t arrive at our house until after 2:00 a.m. Maeva was wide awake when she got here and ready to play. She is 6 months already and such a cutie! I had to hold her right when she got here. Annabelle slept right through the excitement but will get to see them all tomorrow.
Crazy Hat Day
Today is crazy hat day at Annabelle’s school. B wanted her to wear her train hat and I wanted her to wear her birthday hat so we let Annabelle decide. As you can see from the pictures she was not at all thrilled with my choice and overjoyed with her daddy’s choice! She loves her train hat. It’s perfect for playing peek-a-boo. We can’t wait to see what the other kids are wearing.

52 weeks of Annabelle
It’s hard to believe Annabelle will be turning 1 on Friday! This first year has been such an adventure. She has changed so much since we first brought her home (2 cities and 3 homes ago!). She is always on the go – crawling, walking with help, pulling herself up, creeping along furniture and getting into everything. She constantly amazes us. She has a wonderful personality and her smile just brightens a room. She still giggles often and has a contagious belly laugh. Her new favorite trick is to give kisses. I love it!
Pool Fun

Ladybug Nursery
Sunday morning we left Breckenridge early after grabbing breakfast at the Prospector. We stopped on our way home to pick up the baby’s mattress from Babies R Us. Annabelle & I played with her toys in the basement most of the afternoon while B finished putting together the baby’s furniture. I’m really happy with how the room turned out. It’s better than I had even imagined. We need to add a shelf and a rug but that will come with time. Right now, we’re set for her arrival and that feels really good! After Annabelle went to bed I made the picture frames for our “Little Lady”. Now, I just need her to arrive so I can fill the frames with pictures of her. We’re also going to hang her name in red letters over the bed, but can’t put that up yet. Wouldn’t want to give away the surprise too early!
