Mommy & GG

Gwyneth and I went to get our “Mommy and Me” pictures taken. She was in a great mood and we got so many good shots. I have to resist posting them all but here are a few.

I swore I would never get naked pictures taken of the girls, but GG’s rolls are just so flippin’ cute I couldn’t resist. I think these are her best pictures yet. Let’s just hope she doesn’t hate me for the naked pictures when she gets older. I’ll resist the urge to pull them out when her boyfriends visit. HA!
After pictures, I met Sarah for lunch at Mad Greens in Boulder. We finally had the opportunity to really catch up. Twice in one week seeing Sarah – this has been a very good week for me!! I went home and cranked on the playroom again and capped off the day with movie night at Sheila’s. Jen and Consuelo joined us and we were supposed to watch “The Other Boleyn Girl”, but we popped open some wine and enjoyed some delicious snacks that Sheila prepared and never got around to watching the movie. I really appreciate all the wonderfully, entertaining women in my life. I’m so glad I’ve had this week off work to spend time with my girls, B and reconnect with some very great friends. I just wish I could have done more…

happy birthday, melissa and erica

I met Sheila and Melissa for lunch downtown to celebrate Melissa’s birthday. They are fabulous girls and such fun friends. I’m so happy that I have reconnected with Sheila now that we’re back in Colorado and she introduced me to Melissa. I really enjoy my time with them and we have so much in common with all 3 of us trying to balance family, kids, jobs, and squeeze in a beer or margarita here or there too. 🙂

Happy Birthday, Melissa!
I came home and got busy working on the border in the playroom. I’m stenciling daisies and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. Pictures to follow when the room is complete.

A Happy Birthday shout out to Erica,
our friend in K.C.
I hope you are celebrating with a tub of tacos and white cheese! 🙂
It’s not a day at the Meyer house without pictures of my girls…

playroom progress

My dear friend Lisa works nights and weekends and it takes a great deal of planning and the planets must all be perfectly aligned for us to be able to spend time together. I couldn’t be more excited that I was able to see her twice in one week!!!
We met up for lunch on Monday and what do you know…as soon as we sat down and ordered our beers (yep, beers on Monday afternoon – L.I.V.I.N’!!) I received a call from GG’s teacher. Her reflux was really acting up and she puked up an entire jar of peas (yuck, yuck, yuck). I went to pick her up and she spent the afternoon with me while I started work on the playroom. I’m a very lucky momma because this is what a sick GG looks like….

GG and I had a great afternoon together. She was all smiles and laughing. Annabelle came home in a great mood too and the weather has been so nice we were able to play outside for a bit before dinner.

After dinner we got a video call from YaYa, Auntie Becky and LaLa (that’s Madison according to Annabelle)!!! It was so great for us all to be able to talk and see each other. What a great time! Annabelle absolutely loves it – she said goodnight to the computer before heading off to bed.

Tuesday was a serious paint day and I’m so grateful that Lisa came over to help me. We really flew through it! The room is so cute in pink and purple. I loved being able to spend the day with Lisa and Preston and Lisa was such a huge huge help.

Godmotha Lunch & Rewalt Dinner

It had been entirely too long since we saw Sarah and Mary Ann so we decided to meet up for breakfast LePeep at Flatirons. Woah – imagine our suprise when we got there and it was boarded up. No more LePeep. Like I said, it had been a long time! We had breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe which is one of my new favorites so it turned out just fine.

We had a pretty uneventful day full of errands and then the Rewalts came over for dinner. It was nice to catch up with them and the girls enjoyed playing with their cousins.

Fun with the Carlson’s

Four kids under 2! We have our hands full but we also have so much getting them all together.

All you ladies out there can just call him Ben. 😉
Jack and Annabelle play really well together. Ben and Gwyneth are not far behind! GG has found her feet and loves them.

WOW – Museum

We checked out the Wow – Museum in Lafayette and it was great! (http://www.wowmuseum.com/) The girls both had a really good time and well, honestly isn’t it just a fun museum to say….WOOOOOW! 🙂

This is so much fun!

Meyer Family Fun Night

I have been working a lot lately so I noticed a little break in my schedule and jumped at the opportunity to take a little time off work. I have all next week off! I’ll be using my time to catch up on errands and household chores/improvements that I have neglected over the past few weeks. Most importantly I’ll be able to spend lots of quality time with my girls, B, and some friends!

We kicked off my new found (if only temporary) freedom with a quiet night at home with the girls….well, it was hardly quiet. We ordered pizza, turned on the music and got the girls rockin’ and laughin’. Annabelle has a newfound love for “ELMO”. She requests him by name and we even humored her tonight and let her watch a bit of the video.
Rob and Diane are set up on Skype and I won’t pretend they called to see me or B. Annabelle loved seeing her Godparents and likes their dogs too! She kept asking for to see their puppies and of course her Godparents delivered. Rob also toppled a few times off an exercise ball which brought on some giggles (not just from Annabelle!).
After the girls went to bed, B and I watched the movie “W.” on our monster tv downstairs. I had been really excited to see this movie, but was a bit disappointed. It was terribly slow. B fell asleep (this is not really saying much because only comedies seem to keep him awake – or Die Hard I and III). The one redeeming factor is that Josh Brolin does an amazing W impression. If movies don’t work out for him I think he’ll be able to find a job on Frank TV.

Crash!

Poor YaYa was in a very bad car accident today. The roads were horribly icy in Chicago and although she was able to come to a stop the guy behind her wasn’t and he rear-ended her going about 50 miles an hour. Her car is probably totalled. She went to the emergency room with really bad back and neck pain. Luckily everything checked out just fine and they sent her home with pain medications and strict orders to not work and to just relax for the next few days. We wish we could be there to see her!
Feel better soon YaYa, and make Madison takes good care of you!!
Miss C (as she’s affectionately referred to at our house….Miss Consuelo is a little tough for Annabelle to say!) came over and got a glimpse at the chaos that is the Meyer’s. 🙂 She got there just in time for bathtime and then the girls went off to bed rather quietly. I guess they were both pretty beat from getting up at 4:30 a.m.!! (GG is teething and woke up the entire house at a un-Godly hour this morning!). We spent the rest of the quiet evening catching up and sharing a bottle of wine. Good times.

The Godfatha

Gus and Amy joined us for dinner Sunday evening. It had been far too long since GG had seen her Godfather. Amy brought the best cookies ever baked – they were peanut butter cookies with snickers baked right inside. You’ve got to be kidding me! They were delicious and I couldn’t stop myself with just 1…or 2 for that matter. It was really good to see them and it’s always fun to expose them to the chaos that is the Meyer’s!

Amy, The Gus, and GG
Gus and Amy are so sweet to our girls. Although once our girls are a bit older I don’t think I’ll allow them to be around as much. They have way too much scoop on me and B! 🙂

GG and her Godfather

After the girls went to bed we watched the new episode of Big Love. I love this show. I’m obsessed and this is by far the best season yet!!
