Off to St. Louis to celebrate Poppy’s birthday! We started the weekend off with a Cardinals game. We were living the good life in the suite. We can get use to this.

meeting jax
Jamie and Jax arrived tonight and we finally got to meet her baby boy! He’s 10 weeks old and as sweet as can be. The girls were not even the list bit jealous….which may have had something to do with the fact that Jamie’s suitcase was loaded with clothes and shoes for them. We met Jamie at her parent’s house in Longmont and had a wonderful evening catching up and meeting Jax. The girls were treated to lots of corn on the cob and ice cream too. It was so good to see Jamie — I just wish I could see her more often. I miss that gal so much but I don’t expect her to be moving back from Texas anytime soon. I guess there will just be lots of visits in our future.
Mr. Garcia taught Annabelle a new trick….
Jax and his GG (Grandma Garcia)
while daddy’s away…
B headed up to Breckenridge for a golf weekend with his dad and brother-in-laws. I am very lucky to have two wonderful sister-in-laws here in town and we made the most of the crazy weekend together. Chriss, Nathan and Jocelyn met us at the Butterfly Pavilion Friday evening and then we headed back to my house to meet Jen, Ryan, and Reagan. We had a giant sleepover with pizza, snacks, and kiddos as far as the eye could see. (Ok, there were only 6 of them….but that still counts as lots of kiddos in my book). The girls had so much fun with their cousins and Jen, Chriss and I stayed up far too late catching up. I couldn’t have asked for a better time.
Saturday evening we laid low and the girls requested a carpet picnic. They were so good for me all weekend, I had absolutely no reason to deny them. We ordered Chinese food and ate on the floor. I just shook off the blanket and vaccumed the rice up afterwards….this may be the only way to eat rice at our house. So easy!
The girls were so sweet and took it easy on their dear ol’ mom. They were missing their daddy but we kept busy and had a great girls weekend together.
clingman’s
It has been far too long since we’ve seen the Clingman’s and we were lucky enough to squeeze in a visit before school starts and summer offically ends (boooo! to summer ending not the Clingmans). Annabelle and Gwyneth had a blast with the Clingman kids. Annabelle was Lauren’s shadow. She wouldn’t leave her side. Lauren was really sweet and played hide and seek with the girls and read to them. She even helped put Annabelle to bed. We’re looking forward to seeing them all again soon — Noelia and I haven’t been to a movie in quite some time and I’m certain Brad and B are eager to get out and golf very soon.
city park jazz festival
We finally made it to a concert in City Park. It was the last concert of the season so we just barely made it. We met the Tyler’s for a picnic dinner and some great jazz music. The kids had a wonderful time — eating, dancing, running, playing. It was a bit rainy but that didn’t slow us down! We had a great night.
lunch with poppy and melissa
happy birthday, aaron
The Kilborns invited us over to celebrate Aaron’s 10th birthday. There were lots of kids, lots of food, and everyone had a great time. 10 year old boys have MUCH different parties than 2 and 3 year old girls. It was really quite funny to see our girls trying to keep up with the big boys. The party ended with a dads versus kids nerf gun battle. I must admit I was not fully prepared to see my little angels haulling around semi-automatic rifles.
Aaron, the birthday boy
such little ladies….
she may be little but she carries a big gun
Cake time. Aunt Jen must have given Annabelle 3 helpings of frosting.
Brad, Aaron’s dad is taking no prisoners in the nerf gun battle
I suppose someone should warn poor B that he’s about to get nunchucked! (that kid got him good!)
dancing school
I had to admit to my friend Jennifer (yes, my friend of two little boys), that although Annabelle loves dancing school and she really does very well in her class the main draw for me is the clothes!!! I love the leotards, tights, tap and ballet shoes, and the bun cover….my goodness, the hair bun cover! Tell me you’ve seen something cuter than this…. Go ahead, I’ll wait…..
Adorable! I can’t wait for her first recital. I think I’ll have to purchase additional storage space on my blog for all those pictures…..
meeting laney
I swung over to the Fessler’s house with dinner and to meet sweet new baby girl Laney. She slept the entire time I was there!!!! Now, I’ve learned to never mess with a sleeping baby so I took advantage of my time there to catch up with Melissa and Rob. They shared the delivery and hospital stay story with me….and it was good! Both mom and baby are doing great. I can’t wait to get all the kiddos together.
welcome home, gus
Gus has been on the road for the past two weeks. He’s been missed very much around our house. Gwyneth opened the door this morning and said “Where’s Gus? Trouble, Trouble, Trouble!”. Luckily he’s back in town for a bit and the girls got their fix last night. Gus and Josh, his brother, joined us for dinner last night and hung out with us a for a bit.
Welcome home, Gus. Gwyneth was missing her Godfather.
