last swim lesson

Today was the girls’ last swim lesson at our community pool for this summer. Gwyneth was not having it. I told her if she didn’t participate in her lesson then she couldn’t swim during free play. Didn’t even phase her. She parked herself on the side of the pool and gladly sat out. Looks like she showed me.

pinkalicious game

We took Gwyneth to to the store to pick out a birthday gift for Annabelle (while Madison babysat…….what? my niece old enough to babysit????). I thought for sure she would go for a Mickey Mouse or Cars gift (her favorites). She found a Pinkalicious game and said “Annabelle loves Pinkalicious!! Such a sweet girl.
This game has been a source of endless entertainment. It requires drawing, acting, rhyming, singing and above all a collection of Pinkalicious cupcakes. My girls rock at it.

presents for a princess

Annabelle’s friends were extremely generous and showered her with gifts. She is very grateful for everything she received. She was thrilled to see so many Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, and Princess presents. This girl is in heaven. She was so happy she let me take a lot of shots of her opening gifts. Sorry for the overload….but I just couldn’t choose which shots were my favorites so I just included a lot of them!
These are not baby gifts. These are big girls gifts. Makes a momma kind of sad. Although, I am happy to say they take up far, far less room than the gifts of years past.

jumpin’ jordy’s party

Annabelle’s birthday festivities kicked off with a party at Jumpin’ Jordy’s. She was so excited to celebrate with her friends and family! I made her a sweet little princess dress and she even got pink and purple princess cupcakes. What more can a girl ask for???
The kiddos jumped their little brains out, took a break for pizza and cupcakes and then resumed jumping. I was able to snap lots of photos of the eating, but not of the jumping. It has been a month since Annabelle has seen her school friends and I couldn’t keep up with them. She was so happy to see them and they played hard.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with Annabelle. You really made my princess’ day!
If the shoe fits….a princess indeed!

Pizza time!

Someone better get Ivy some pizza – NOW!

Sweet little Hanna

A great group of kiddos!

Perfect pink and purple princess cupcakes and the party favor bags

This picture cracks me up. The lights went out and everyone started singing. Annabelle wasn’t quite sure what to do with herself.

Now that’s how you eat a cupcake!

pirates

Thanks to my wonderful husband, sweet girls, dear Goddaughter, and some fab friends, I had a great birthday!

All Madison wanted to do on her trip out here was see the Pirate Exhibit at the Science Museum. So, we did! It was really impressive, although a bit scary for the girls. The exhibit paints the picture of real pirate life over 300 years ago and shows treasures from a real sunken pirate ship. Madison loved it. Unfortunately no cameras allowed in the exhibit.

We had planned on heading to Boulder for pizza, but the weather was so stinkin’ nice we scrapped our plans and decided to spend the evening at the pool. We had pizza delivered pool-side. Perfect!! Missi, Melissa, Rob, Cade and Laney joined us too. My wonderful husband also brought along a Pineapple Upside Down birthday cake. My absolute favorite!!

Just in case the day wasn’t quite perfect already, B and the girls got me an IPAD. Wow – what a birthday! I love it, although I have had to work on my sharing. Gwyneth is addicted to Angry Birds. That B has set the bar high for birthdays!

While B was in Chicago I bought Annabelle a tankini. She loves that her belly shows – her daddy does not. Luckily it was my birthday so he had to be nice to me and let her wear it.

loving madison

B spent a few days in Chicago after Becky’s wedding for work. When he flew back on Thursday he brought Madison with him. We couldn’t have been happier to have B home and Madison visiting!
Annabelle and Madison have always had a special connection. They are the oldest two of the Paz cousins and the only ones that lived in the same state — although it was only for 3 months. Madison and Gwyneth have formed a special bond also and it’s great to see them together. As soon as Madison arrived Gwyneth made herself right at home — on top of Madison — and didn’t leave her side the rest of the trip.

One of my favorite pictures from the week!

who needs lessons?

My girls have no fear of the pool. They love the water and would spend the entire summer there….if only there Momma wasn’t so pale and didn’t burn so easily. Anyway, they hop right in and head right to the point that I can only see their little heads above water. They like to blow bubbles, stick their faces in with their goggles, and Annabelle especially loves to splash (Gwyneth is not a big fan of this part!).
Unfortunately they have lost interest in their swim lessons. They don’t want to participate — apparently they have learned all they need to know in three short weeks. I have to find a new place to send them because they are way too adventurous in the pool and really need to learn to swim properly.

Showing off her elbows – awesome!

So much fun!!

Can you believe how amazing our neighborhood pool is and how empty it is in the mornings? Crazy! We’ll take it though!

tumbling cousins

The girls have gymnastics Wednesday mornings at the Rec Center and I was able to get Maeva in the class. These girls are so stinkin’ cute together. The three of them were so sweet and sat right next to each other, tumbled, and played their little hearts out. Gwyneth seemed to be the daredevil of the crew which surprised me. Maeva was actually a bit timid — I didn’t know she had that in her! They had a great time and I’m so glad Maeva could join the class.

How cute are these 3? Just 6 months between each of them. I hope they always stay good buds.

becky’s wedding

Rebecca and Darnell had a beautiful wedding! We spent the morning being pampered and dolled up. My girls and Stacy’s girls were flower girls. They were thrilled with their dresses, not so excited to stand up at the alter quietly through the ceremony. We all survived and had a wonderful time dancing the night away.
I didn’t have my camera during the ceremony or the reception, but here are a few photos I managed to snap during the very special day.

becky’s rehearsal

The rehearsal dinner was at the RAM Brewery, where Rebecca and Darnell had their first two dates. It was a long day of manicure/pedicures for the girls and golfing for the guys. Everyone was starving by the time we got to the restaurant, but the food and drinks flowed and were delicious. We had a very nice night with lots of friends and family. We are ready for the wedding!
