football funday

We joined the Carlson’s at the Silverman’s for a day of football. The kids all had a great time playing together, the dads got to watch the Broncos win, and I got to catch up with Jennifer and Amy. Its so great to see all these little ones growing up together. They are not so little anymore!
Seeing who is the tallest….It’s a close one, I know…
the Silverman twins and their funny faces!
someone really should teach these girls to chew with their mouths closed…or perhaps someone shouldn’t take pictures while they are trying to eat!
the Carlson boys

the kids lined up from youngest to oldest…
I got so many fun pictures of them I just couldn’t choose one…

time to go crazy

return of rosie

The girls were so excited to show their daddy how brave they are by holding Rosie at the Butterfly Pavilion. I don’t really think that Gwyneth likes holding her, she thinks it tickles, and it kinda freaks her out, but she’s no chicken. In fact, I held Rosie…and Annabelle held Rosie….and Gwyneth held Rosie….and there are 4 people in our family and that’s only three that held Rosie….hmmmm….it would seem that someone didn’t take his turn.  I’m not going to call anyone a chicken, but if the feathers fit….
Oh, wait….we did call B a big chicken! Over and over and over and still couldn’t get him to hold Rosie. The girls gave him such a hard time, but he never did do it. He did steal Gwyneth’s “I Held Rosie” sticker to which she responded “I hope you don’t get bit by a squirrel”. It’s really not relevant to holding a spider, but I gotta hand it to the girl…she knows where to hit where it hurts!

soccer medal

Today was Gwyneth’s last soccer game for the fall season. She did a great job and really progressed from the beginning of the season. I know I mentioned before that I’m not a soccer fan, but she really was so gosh darn cute to watch. She perfected her soccer stops and learned to dribble the ball. Yes, she danced around the field and twirled her pigtails, but she is my little soccer star and I couldn’t be more proud of her.
She received a medal for her participation and proudly wore it! Even better, today was our day to bring snacks and she gladly passed out the treats to all her team mates. I do believe the snack was her favorite part of her soccer! Orange slices are now a staple in our snack bin.
We headed downtown for lunch at Breckenridge Brewery to celebrate a fantastic season. We ended the meal with ice cream and big hugs for our girl. Congratulations Gwyneth!! Again, you prove to us there is absolutely no end to what you can do!

twirling

My girls are dancing fools. They are always, always dancing. I love it! We are approaching the end of the fall dance session and its bitter sweet. I’m excited to see their recital, I will miss see watching them in class, but I’ll be happy to get a few hours back during the week. We are torn on the spring session…we shall see how it goes….

jamie and jax

Jamie and Jackson are visiting from Texas and we were lucky enough to have them join us for dinner. What started as a weekend trip has turned into a month long visit so we hope we’ll get to see them often while they are here.
Miss Annabelle informed us that she didn’t like anything we were having for dinner. She went dish by dish, bowl by bowl and said “don’t like it, don’t like it, don’t like it”. She then proceeded to eat FOUR tacos. Yes, four. I would really hate to see how much she eats when she actually does like something.
The girls were very wound up an were in great “showing off” form. The were wrestling around and smacked heads — well, the back of Gwyneth’s head and Annabelle’s face. It was quite dramatic and Annabelle made herself a bag of ice to re-cooperate. She wasn’t taking any chances. That’s quite a bag of ice….

taco night for the princess

my sweet yet quite sassy girl. such a crack up.

the dad. and he said this picture would never make the blog…

yo gabba gabba

Gwyneth and I finally had our special day and went to see Yo Gabba Gabba together. On the drive over to the theater she kept telling me “I get to go to Gabba, because Annabelle saw Lion King. Yay for me!!”.
Gwyneth was at the perfect age for the show. I do believe she danced and I smiled through the entire show. We don’t really watch the show at home, and I’m not really a huge fan….not like others I know….but I couldn’t have asked for a better time with Gwyneth. We met up with the Carlson’s at the show and they came over to the house afterwards or dinner. Annabelle and Gwyneth were both thrilled to have their friends over to play.
I look forward to many more of these one on one adventures with my girls!
My girl at the theater
With Jack and Ben. So excited!
Me and the G-meister
(she informed  me I can call her either the G-meister or GG, no Gwyneth. G-meister it is!)

Snack time!

And some gummy life savers too!

weekend getaway

We headed up to Breckenridge for a relaxing, quiet weekend getaway. Words can’t describe how lovely the trip was for all of us. Gus and Missi joined us and we basically spent the weekend walking around town, being lazy at the condo, making Shrinky Dinks, and playing Mexican Train — which is the absolute best, most fun domino game EVER!
Gwyneth got a hold of the sunscreen in the car. Her hair was one big greasy mess!
Gwyneth loved the snow. She is ready for ski season.

Annabelle was not a  fan of the cold weather. I have a strange feeling this little blondie is going to end up in California someday.

The girls love the arcade at Downstairs at Eric’s

The Febreeze Brothers (this joke is only funny if you have seen the movie, The Other Guys)

more snow

Blizzards were forecasted but we just got a few inches. It’s beginning to look a lot like winter around here.
And yes, my girls are in pajamas, rain boots, and winter coats, gloves, and hats. They could barely wait to get  socks on before heading out to play in the snow. Oh and Annabelle is wearing a pumpkin carving apron under her coat. What’s a  mom  to do?

butterflies and boots

I took the day off to spend with my girls before my big holiday rush. Our plan was to meet up with the Carlson’s at the Children’s Museum, but unfortunately Jennifer and Ben got sick. We decide to stick a little closer to home and headed to the Butterfly Pavilion.
Gwyneth has been waiting so long to hold Rosie.  Now that she is three she had her chance!! She was nervous but giggled and said Rosie tickled. So proud of this girl.

Annabelle is an old pro at holding Rosie.

After the Butterfly Pavilion we headed over to the  movie theatre to see Puss N Boots. Annabelle loved it. She loves going to the movies and I think she pretty much likes everything we go to see. Gwyneth was ok…just ok. She got antsy about halfway through. Going to movies just doesn’t seem to be her thing. Maybe when she’s a little older…or maybe not? We shall see….
