ramen

I’m not gonna lie. I love Ramen. I do. Ever since college when I practically O.D’ed on it. I also like the cheapy Lipton Noodle Soup. No chicken just noodles.  I’m pretty sure I haven’t had either since college. I have been living on them this week. And you know what…I’m not sad about it. It’s good! Granted a little variety would be nice.  A slice of pizza would be heavenly. A glass of wine a pure delight. But I’m not too sad about eating Ramen three times a day. It makes my throat feel good and it’s only cost me about 90 cents a day!

bumps

Miss Annabelle took a little spill on her scooter and bumped her cheek. She had quite the bruise to show for it, but it couldn’t keep her down for long. She’s still a happy girl.

When Annabelle got home from school she read her Easter book to her sister. So stinkin’ cute.

easter books

I have to admit….we’re getting a little nuts around here. I’m not one for laying around on the couch and that’s what I’ve been doing since my surgery. I have to get creative to entertain this bunch. We used the stickers from Poppy and Melissa’s Easter package to make Easter books. The girls got to use scissors which is a super big treat at our house. I do love our crafty moments.
My favorite page from Annabelle’s Easter book is “I love my daddy….MORE THAN SCISSORS!”. That is a lotta, lotta, love!

Annabelle’s favorite puppy is Sienna and her favorite place to go on vacation is to Maeva’s house.

jack and the beanstalk

B spent the morning golfing with Gus and my mom took the girls to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the Boulder Children’s Theater. The girls love seeing live shows and came home with great stories and reactions to this performance. Annabelle loved the idea that Jack grew the bean stalk with magic beans, but Gwyneth was very concerned that Jack was a bad listener and didn’t obey his mom. They both loved spending the day with their YaYa and had a great time!

Chriss, Paul, and Jocelyn brought lots of food – quesadillas, enchiladas, two different kids of soup and fruit salad. They certainly brought something for everyone and spoiled us. They took the girls to the park and wore them out. Such a lazy day of rest for me. Have I mentioned lately how lucky I am to have such a great family?

ouch

My mom warned me the 3rd day of recovery would be the worst. SHE WAS RIGHT! I can’t even explain how horrible I feel. It involves tears. I don’t cry often but getting off the couch, trying to help my girls get dressed, drinking water…all cause tears. I can’t really talk and I can’t eat or drink.
I’m optimistic that things will turn around tomorrow and I’ll be back on the right track. Sheila brought dinner for our family tonight and my mom and B took great care of me and the girls. I’m very, very grateful! I’m looking forward to drinking slurpees again tomorrow!!
Thanks to Miss Sheila for the spaghetti pie, salad, and bread!

recovery

YaYa worked on Easter crafts with the girls while I rested. It was a very quiet night and the girls were really good.
We realized there was morphine in the pain medication my doctor prescribed for me. I  I was up all night because of the medicine – I’m allergic!  Now that we know, I’m back on the right track. I’ve been living on ice cream and slurpees and have been feeling pretty good. Hopefully we’re back in our groove in just a few more days.

The girls received a pre-Easter package from Poppy and Melissa. They enjoyed their goodies.

My sister-in-laws, Jen and Chriss sent me these beautiful flowers. Really nice!

Super cute bunnies. Thanks to YaYa for all her help!!! The girls love having her here (and are just a bit spoiled!)

so long tonsils

I got my tonsils out today!

I expected to lose my voice and for it to be horribly painful. It’s not too bad. My throat does hurt, but I have lots and lots of pain killers and lucky for everyone else I can still speak in a rather raspy voice. My mom is all over it too….she has my doses mapped out and I take my medicine to the proper minute which really helps with the pain.
I couldn’t be more thankful for the help from B and my mom. B stocked me up on soup, made dinner for the family, and picked up all my medicine. My mom sat at the surgery center with me and has been running around getting me milkshakes. They both took great care of me and the girls including meals, bath time, and keeping them entertained while I take a rest. I am very lucky.
Before bed, Miss Annabelle said “I hope you feel better mommy” and then asked “well, when are you going to be better?” Soon, very very soon!

Stay tuned as the anesthesia wears off….things might get interesting around here. I’m a bit  whole lot of high maintenance when I don’t feel good.

the snug

Who doesn’t love a delicious brunch with fabulous friends??? Well, brunch with my dear friends Tammy and Consuelo came at the perfect time. I snuck in lots of chatting time, a mimosa, and delicious food at the Irish Snug. I had to get in a lovely brunch before my surgery and I couldn’t have asked for better. I love catching up with these ladies and being downtown. We’ve been friends for over 10 years and there is never a dull moment. I’m very grateful for these ladies!

playdate with ivy

I took Gwyneth and Ivy for an afternoon at the bouncey house in Loveland. The girls had such a blast together. They really clicked! They played hard and were so sweet.
Ivy’s dad is Seth, who B has been friends with since he was a kid. Not exactly sure how long, but it’s been a long time. I was explaining that to the girls and they looked so shocked. They said “Our daddies were best friends just like we’re best friends.”  Quite cute.

Ivy’s birthday is on St. Patty’s day so when we got back to the house we made cupcakes. Gwyneth picked out the decorations the day before for the cupcakes. She insisted on Little Mermaid cupcakes because Ivy and Aerial both have red hair.

Seth, Katie, Ella and Braxton joined us for dinner tonight. This was the first time we met Braxton. What a cute, cute, cute baby. I don’t think I heard him cry one single time that night. I on the other hand almost lost my mind…while I was holding Braxton on the couch I looked up just in time to see Gwyneth rolling down the stairs. I did my best to hold it together, but she freaked me out. This was our stairs incident…neither of our girls has ever fallen downstairs until now. She wasn’t hurt but I certainly made it worse by making a big deal about it.

lucky cupcakes

I volunteered to bring cupcakes for Annabelle’s school party. Missi came over to help us bake and the girls pitched in and helped blend the batter, ice the cupcakes, put on sprinkles and candy shamrocks. They were our official taste testers.
