smokin’

Becky and her family left this morning which was very sad and not so easy since Miss Lily had a pretty tough night. She had a fever and luckily Becky woke up when she heard her having a seizure. Poor, poor girl. No one slept very well after that…obviously and it made for a pretty rough plane ride home with a crabby baby girl.

Miss Gwyneth had a play date with her friend Annika while B watched football. Annabelle had plans to meet her Daisy troop at the Boulder theater for a performance of the nutcracker. We were in the car about 10 minutes when it started smokin’. what the heck???? I’ve never had anything like that happen and I remained totally calm….wait, nope I didn’t. I freaked out. We swapped cars with B and he is trying to figure out what’s going on with the rockin’ mini van. Fingers crossed it is something simple.

pete rose is back

Welcome back, Pete Rose!

I’m ready to get my game on and make it a fun season for the girls. I wish I was one of those moms who talked trash about this kind of stuff and didn’t play along and rallied against the establishment (and by establishment I mean the other ambitious moms on pinterest). I have to admit though — it’s a guilty pleasure. Its fun to pose Pete Rose and see the girls’ faces. So, I’m going to try and be fun. And try to remember to move him every night. And maybe even come up with some fun new ideas. We shall see….

Pete Rose made his debut stealing some sushi rolls tonight.

lily and madison

Becky and her family spent the holiday up in Breckenridge with my dad. They came down Saturday and stayed the night with us and the girls got to have their cousin time. Miss Lily is such a character and cracks me up and Madison is just such a great teenager and I love talking to her about books and movies.  I wish we had more time with them but with my parents being divorced we can’t always come together. Thankfully we have Christmas planned together and it’s just right around the corner.

turkey

B created a pretty fabulous menu and treated us a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. We had a full house with friends and family and had a great time celebrating our blessings. Oh, and it was our fifteen year anniversary. So much to celebrate and be thankful for….

Our dinner menu.
B was not messing around. This was the best Thanksgiving meal I have ever had. Yum, yum, yum!
We had 20 people and B pulled it off effortlessly…at least it looked effortless.

cards

Christmas card time! Woo hoo. One of my favorite things about the holidays. I love writing out the envelopes and thinking about old and new friends and family.

This year the girls wanted to add their own touch and make their own lists. I’m going to have to order more cards…

iceless

We met Gwyneth’s girl scout troop for some iceless ice skating. Most of the girls were out of town, but a few of the gals were able to make it and they were so sweet together. They held hands and skated and there was a bit of falling, but there was mostly a lot of laughing.

Love that the dads who could make it were out there helping out with the girls. Stinkin’ adorable.

flat monkey

Gwyneth’s monkey has been with us since she was born. She loves her monkey and has chewed off his ears, his tail and removed most of the stuffing. He was known as “flat monkey” around our house. He was basically just fabric.

I took pity on poor “flat monkey” and stuffed him. Gwyneth thought it was hilarious, so we just kept stuffing, and stuffing, and stuffing. No longer “flat monkey”, Gwyneth now has “fat monkey” and he may just burst at the seams.
happy to have “fat monkey”
