slippers

Annabelle’s Godparents sent a Christmas package to the girls which included glittering lotions, hand sanitizers, and these fabulous socks.

Happy Happy Girls! Thank you Diane and Robert!

kid night

The girls attended Kids Night Out at their dancing school. We drop them off, they have dinner, do crafts, dance, play with their friends, and watch a movie. They really enjoy going and I always feel bad when we have plans and they can’t attend. We dropped them off with great intentions of finishing our Christmas shopping and doing all the wrapping. That didn’t happen. If you’re curious or confused, please see post from last night. Enough said.

Just so there’s no confusion, the girls were asked to get themselves ready. These outfits were picked out all on their own. As much as I would like to take credit for the shorts and snowboots this outfit was not my victory.

drink

Our friends Jaimyn and Jeremy are truly genius when it comes to their holiday partying. This was our 2nd year attending their “Drink the Tree” party and it was just as fabulous as your imagination will allow. Everyone brings airplane size booze bottles to decorate the tree, Jaimyn and Jeremy supply the mixers and the food and the guests proceed to drink the tree.

I don’t typically partake in hard alcohol, but I found a few fun bottles on the tree. My favorites were the candy bar vodka and Baileys. We all indulged in some festive cocktails, loaded into my rockin’ mini van and Gus drove us home. What? What? What? Yeah, say it again and it will still be true. Gus was the DD. It was a Christmas miracle. God bless us….Every ONE!!!

(really Gus, thanks for driving us!)

daisy part deux

A few of Gwyneth’s very dear friends from kindergarten needed a place for their Daisy induction ceremony and we helped them to use our rec center. We helped them get set up, took Annabelle to dance class, got a hot cocoa, picked up Annabelle from dance class, did homework, had dinner, and then went back and helped them clean up the room. Gwyneth loves these little ladies and we’re trying to combine our troops for some special field trips next year.

(I don’t mean to sound arrogant or imply that I’m a super mom, but someday I would like to look back at these days and remember that I really was everywhere at once and that’s why I was always tired. I didn’t mind doing it, I enjoyed time with my kids, but son-of-a-b*tch, I was tired!).

practice

Tonight the girls practiced their hip hop routine for next weeks holiday performance. Annabelle takes hip hop very seriously and she also puts them in these silly poses for pictures. If you have ever seen my Ice Ice Baby routine you’ll know she gets all of the above from her mother.

daisy

Tonight was Gwyneth’s troop induction into the Girl Scouts. Amy lead the ceremony and I gave each of them their vests. It’s pretty much a playdate to the girls at this point, but we are looking forward to the opportunities we have to watch these girls grow together and form strong friendships.

I’m happy to have this time with Miss Gwyneth and I’m glad she has such sweet friends. I’m also glad to have Amy on this journey so we can support our daughters and also have a glass of vino while we are making all the plans…who knew girl scouts was so intense????

assessments

The girls had the day off school today. They went in for an hour for winter assessments and then each had a friend over for a play date.

Annabelle and Emma entertained themselves playing Twister

Chloe and Gwyneth played with her baby dolls.

happy birthday, katie

Gwyneth and I planned to drop Annabelle off at Katie’s birthday party and then head to the mall for some Christmas shopping. When we arrived Katie asked Gwyneth if she wanted to stay for the party and you know Miss Gwyneth was not passing that up. There were several girls from Annabelle’s Girl Scout troop at the party but she was so kind and watched out for her sister and made sure she was having fun. Good for them, but bad for my Christmas shopping plans….

happy birthday, Katie

happy birithday, sofia

We hit the roller skating rink for Sophia’s 7th birthday. It was a mini-reunion for the girls from Annabelle’s kindergarten class. I adore these girls. They are sweet as can be. As most of you know, I am not as pleased with her 1st grade class, so seeing all these gals together again warmed my heart. Good group of girls with equally good parents. Good day.

Cake time

Gwyneth joined the girls too and even had a piece of cake. Lucky girl!

Gwyneth was so brave! This was their first time roller skating and Gwyneth had so fear. Well, she may have had fear but she got out there and rocked it. So proud!

Annabelle didn’t care about skating as much as hanging out with her friends but she finally got out there and gave it a try.

pizza

It’s freezing here. Seriously, so flippin’ cold! Tyson came home with the girls from the bus stop and we did homework, read books, and of course Tyson cracked us up. He’s a good kid.

Annabelle reading about Alaska, which I believe is currently warmer than here!

While Annabelle was at dance we made individuals pizzas and surprised her with a funny face when she got home.

Pete Rose is a giver.
The girls have a book drive at school tomorrow so he brought books for them to donate. I much prefer the do-gooder elf to the naughty elf….which is probably quite shocking to most?
