fall festival

We hosted a booth at the girls’ school Fall Festival again this year. Painters could make little pumpkin magnets at our station. I had a staff member join us so we wouldn’t be tied to the booth all night and explore with the girls. It turned out pretty well, but there is always room for improvements. The magnets were not as big of a hit as the pumpkin dishes were last year so I have to come up with a new, better idea next year. Luckily we already have several ideas for these suckers…because we have quite a few leftover.
B and I also got signed up to work a few of the other booths over the course of the night.
Annabelle worked this booth with a friend too.
And the girls played! They had a great time with their friends. We gave them a lot of freedom to explore and have fun on their own. It’s always great to see them with their pals.
Annabelle soaked her teacher! Ha!

celebration!

I embarked on a field trip today with a fellow Color Me Mine owner. I drove about an hour and half to south east Colorado to check out a pottery barn. Not a pottery barn retail store…literally a barn full of pottery! It was crazy. I have never seen anything like it. I have had customers asking for different pieces and these custom-made pieces will surely fit that bill. I’m eager to see if they sell and hope I can take the family on a little field trip down there to see that barn and pick up more inventory.
I arrived home to find my family all dolled up and ready to celebrate. We had dinner at Hickory and Ash. It was so wonderful to take a break from all the madness that this new studio entails and thank my husband and girls for their patience with me and the process. I’m a lucky, lucky lady!

broncos vs texans

The girls spent the night at Great Wolf Lodge celebrating their friend Kierra’s birthday. B and I met up with Gus and Brandon for the Broncos game. Oh man, I love going to those games. We have so much fun and this season has been such a fun experience. It would be a whole lot more fun if the Broncos didn’t lose and would stop driving me crazy with this freakin’ quarterback….BUT we are having such a blast being at the stadium this season.
What a crew!

broncos vs chiefs

The girls were rather bummed that they couldn’t join us for Monday Night Football tonight. We were worried about school the next morning and getting home too late. Our friends, the Billeras joined us for a fun night at Mile High. The game was a blast with great friends and the only bummer was that the Broncos didn’t pull off the win.

health fair and mamma mia

Our family volunteered at the 9Health Fair and we had to be there bright and early. B left the house at 4:30 and the girls and I left around 6:30. B provided breakfast for all the volunteers and worked the check out table. I was tasked with form checking.
Annabelle was a greeter at the front door.
Gwyneth ran the kids table
These kids did a great job. I was really proud of them.
It was a cold, early morning and as soon as we got home G jammed up.
After a restful afternoon we went to the Arvada Center to see Mamma Mia. The girls are hooked on these movies right now. They loved the show!

symphony | sinatra and fitzgerald tribute

B and I had a wonderful night at the symphony. We started our evening at Corinne’s which is not far at all from the theater. The restaurant was across the street from the Convention center which was hosting the Great American Beer Fest. There were crazy drunk people everywhere! We escaped the madness in the restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal. We shared buffalo cauliflower, salmon and a portabello mushroom sandwich. So, so good. I would highly recommend this place.

We definitely brought the average age of the crowd down a few decades at the symphony.  B and I both truly loved the show. The music was amazing and I adore the symphony. We purchased season tickets and have many more trips – date nights and family nights – ahead of us!

colorado history museum

My dad and Melissa drove down from Breck to spend the day with us downtown. Poor B had to work but he was able to meet us for dinner that evening.
I had a free hotel room on hotels.com and we were heading to the Bronco game the following day so we decided to stay downtown. Oh, I do love a little staycation – especially downtown. It reminds me so much of the times we lived in the city. I love being able to give the girls even just a little taste of that (just a tiny nibble really).
We’ve become big fans of the Denver Born Hotel. They have lovely rooms, great location, and  excellent amenities including free rides in a Tesla to the Bronco stadium.
We spent most of our afternoon at the Colorado History Museum. I can not get enough of that museum, it’s one of my favorites in the city. I highly recommend it to anyone. I thought we’d spend an hour or two but we spent much longer! It’s a hit with everyone.
My dad and Melissa are big baseball fans and I wanted them to see the Play Ball exhibit! It didn’t disappoint.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel to get cleaned up for dinner. We met up with B and his dad for dinner at Morton’s. I’m so glad B was able to make it down, but of course I didn’t get any pictures at dinner. I really do love taking pictures but I’m always nervous about annoying everyone with my camera. I need to get over that because the pictures are worth a little annoyance right?
We had a great visit with my dad and Melissa!

rockies vs arizona

B and I played hookie from work for the afternoon and went to the Rockies game. They are on fire right now and we have our fingers crossed that we’ll see some playoff action this season.
It was a gorgeous afternoon for some baseball. You really have to love Colorado! We got lucky with a little shade, a few afternoon beers and some big hits from our Rockies. We had to leave a bit early to pick up the girls from school, but we had a lot of fun while it lasted. I love that we were able to sneak away a little bit for some time together. That B still is my fav.
A  pre-game snack at Blake Street Tavern
Time for some baseball!
Yessss!

broncos vs seattle

Our first  game of the regular season and boy, was it a good one. We were all pretty pumped to get to the stadium and to cheer for our Broncos. It was a beautiful, sunny day with temps in the 90’s. That’s a little hot for football season, but our seats found the shade by the 2nd quarter and we were happy as can be.
We had our fair share of Seahawks fans around us and it was a bit obnoxious at times. It was a great lesson for the girls to see how to behave and how to really NOT behave. They loved all the drama on and off the field including a guy who sat two rows behind us, got in a fight with a Seahawks fan, spilled half his beer down mine and Gwyneth’s backs and then was ejected. It was super crazy and they loved it!
The game was a nail-biter and the Broncos pulled off a win! We had so much fun cheering for our home team and can’t wait to get back there again.

bmk thursday

Just another lunch date at Blue Mountain Kitchen….believe me, I don’t take that for granted. Today I was spoiled with many dishes. We enjoyed shrimp scampi, ginger beef, cashew chicken, chicken tikka masala, and chicken Caesar salad. Each dish was more delicious than the next. We tried a bit of each and then packaged the rest up for our family meals this week. We’re going to eat well at our house!
I’ve got a pretty good gig taking these menu pictures. I hope we keep adding new items so these Thursday lunches never end!
