baby shower: natalie

Natalie is a dear friend of mine from Mom’s Club and she is expecting her 2nd baby in just two weeks. I hosted a baby shower for her — which means I baked some cupcakes and B whipped up a delicious meal for all of us ladies.
Natalie has been craving Asian food so B made California rolls, crab cheese wontons, Chinese chicken salad, and Asian chicken wings. It was delicious!!!
The girls picked out their own dresses for the event and didn’t miss a chance to wear their finest.
Can’t wait to meet Natalie’s new little guy!

renaissance

Another adventure at the Renaissance Festival. Boy, there sure are some crazy people that show up at that festival! Our girls love the fairies, B loves the beer and I like the pickles and pretzels. It really is some crazy people watching. I get the period costumes, well, I don’t get it but it’s a theme, and I’m no stranger to a theme. It’s flippin’ hot though and those costumes look miserable. Pokémon and Darth Vader were also not in Renaissance Era….as far as I know? Weirdos! (Yep, I’m juding!).
Sneaky girl stole my pickle

Gwyneth use to love some steak on a stake….although now I think Poppy has ruined her with Morton’s because it was not up to her fine dining almost six year old standards.

independence

Happy 4th of July!

We had a very low key day which started with a backyard bbq at a friend of Annabelle’s from Girl Scouts. They are a very nice family and host a super fun shin dig.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at the bowling alley for a 99 cent games. Of course, Gwyneth won. That girl kills me.
So stinkin’ cute.
Sweet sisters
After bowling, we went home to make some red, white and blue snacks. B made dinner and Gus and Misti brought some more treats and joined us for fireworks. This is the first year I have ever purchased fireworks and I was rather surprised how expensive they were. I am kind of a lame mom and just got the little fountains and sparklers, but the girls were happy and it was just enough to make fun to make me nervous which seems about right.
well, that can’t be good…
time to throw some snaps…

shrek

For my birthday I received tickets from my dad and Melissa to Shrek. The show was live at the Boulder Dinner Theater and the girls were really excited. The love going to shows and I have to admit I do too. B joined us this evening, even though it definitely wasn’t his favorite.

The girls clean up pretty darn well.
Seriously, these girls look way too old! What the heck?!?

train

We joined two families, Natalie and Laurie and their boys, at the train museum in Golden. It has been some time since we went to explore there and the girls enjoyed themselves. It was a really hot day, but we did our best to find shade.

happy birthday: chloe

We’ve had a busy summer, but I don’t feel like I’ve been the best about keeping up with play dates for the girls. Gwyneth was so, so excited to go to her friend Chloe’s birthday and see friends from school. She really does have a great group of friends from kindergarten — I didn’t get pictures of everyone but they are sweet gals!

Gwyneth and the birthday girl, Chloe.

breakfast with annabelle

Miss Annabelle had a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” inspired birthday party. 10 of her friends met at our house, took some photos, made goodie bags and then a limo picked us up and took us for donuts.

The girls dressed up and looked lovely! They had so much fun in the limo and we filled them up with donuts. It was a really fun party and I absolutely loved all the girlie, DIVA, fabulousness.

happy birthday: annabelle

We were all pretty worn out from our day at Water World. Annabelle got to pick where we went for dinner and she decided on Buffalo Wild Wings. She told us she had a great, great day and that makes me so happy.

Best birthday wishes for our beautiful girl!

water world

Happy Birthday to our dear little Annabelle! Seven years old. My, oh my!

We are so, so lucky to have this fabulous little lady in our lives. She is all things wonderful with a little extra dash of sass. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t make us laugh. My life is so much more entertaining and richer with her in it. Every single day I am grateful that I get to be her mom.

For her birthday she asked to go to Water World. We have never been and we had a blast. We went on a few rides, but spent most of our time in the wave pool. We had a little lightening delay and they closed all the pools, but it worked out perfect for us because it was just at the right time for lunch.
