It has been way too long since we’ve seen the Tyler’s. We got to have a fabulous dinner at their house and finally catch up. Such fun, fabulous friends.

Gwyneth’s troop toured Petsmart and learned about pet care and adoptions. They loved it!
I should mention I am very allergic to cats. Horribly allergic. I wanted to be a trooper about it, so I took a few benedryl and tried to man up. Oh my heavens – I couldn’t see! Yep, still allergic. Very allergic. My eyes swelled up and I couldn’t breathe. I think we will remain a cat-free household!

tailgating
Our neighborhood hosted a Bronco tailgate party. The mascot and cheerleaders were there for photo ops and autographs. The girls got decked out in their orange and blue.
After the tailgate, Annabelle and Reagan went to their friend Evelyn’s birthday party.
We picked Annabelle up and went to the movies to see Dolphin Tale 2. Gwyneth is kind of a dolphin nut so she was really excited about that one. Gotta love Annabelle’s fairy face paint….and apparently these days fairies have mustaches. Huh, who knew?
parade
I gotta be honest, I’m not a parade person. It’s just not my thing. The only thing that may be worse than watching a parade is actually walking in a parade. Yep, yep that’s worse and I know this for a fact.
Annabelle’s girl scout troop walked in the local parade and I joined them to help keep an eye on the girls. I love this girl…and oh man, the things we do for the kids we love!
I made a few poor choices. I parked about a 1/2 mile away from the meeting point. We walked about 2 miles and then had to turn around walk back to the car after the parade. Oops. That was so much walking for the girls and they were exhausted.
Despite my poor choices, Annabelle really liked being in the parade and Gwyneth even joined us for part of the walk. Annabelle really liked handing out candy and Gwyneth equally enjoyed gathering a collection of candy. Both agreed it would be a lot more fun if they could ride on a float or sit on the back of a convertible and wave. I’m going to have to agree, that does sound quite lovely.
After the parade, Poppy and Melissa came down for dinner at Morton’s. We stopped by the kitchen to show them the progress. I wish I had before pictures to compare because it is really coming along although it looks a bit messy right now. We’re about 6 weeks out of opening. Woo hoo!

girls rock
The purpose of these photos is to show that I do in fact brush Gwyneth’s hair before school. We have lovely mornings full of braids, sunshine, bird chirping….ok, that’s not at all true, because I absolutely hate mornings and I do a lot of grumbling “clothes. on. teeth. brush. please. now! where are your shoes? my goodness, children where are your shoes?!?!?!”.
But honestly I do brush her hair and she usually has some little ponytail or braid or bow. Here’s the before pictures. I’ll certainly have some after school pictures to post shortly of the madness that is Gwyneth’s hair when she returns home to me.
Now, Miss Annabelle is another story. She has become quite the little fashionista.
I encourage the dance classes and all the princesses and dress up, but I wanted them to try something that didn’t involve a tutu. I took a chance and signed them up for the “Girl’s Rock” Climbing class.
They were awesome! They loved the class. They got really hot and sweaty and climbed and climbed. I was so impressed with them. It’s a 8 week course and they are already beginning to go back again. I love it!
Gwyneth has some freakish upper body strength.
