dancing with dolls

Just another day at the Meyer house. School, dancing, dolls, what more does one need?
Gwyneth and I joined Eleanor, Clara and Ethan tonight for dinner and bed time stories. Gwyneth and Clara have become fast friends. I am so, so glad because I love hanging out with Eleanor.
Blowing kisses:
Crazy faces:

play doh

The forecast called for lots and lots of snow. We got some, but we weren’t quite snowed in….as we had hoped. We made the most of our snow day by being total bums and just relaxing together. We had a little play-doh party and life was good.

baby teeth

Gwyneth had two teeth pulled. They were danglers and they weren’t going anywhere. Her adult teeth were starting to grow in very crooked, so the dentist decided it was time for them to go. She was very brave and did a great job.
I couldn’t take her back to school after the appointment. Her little face was still numb.
She hated it. I felt bad for her. I mean, I laughed. But I felt bad for her. I didn’t feel bad for laughing.
That goofy face deserves a chocolate milk shake.
The tooth fairy brought Gwyneth $5 and she chose to take her friend to get ice cream. She’s such a kind girl. It was freezing cold outside, but the girls just sat in their ice cream and giggled, giggled, and giggled.

bmk: daisy friends

We hosted a Girl Scout cooking class at the kitchen tonight. The troop had lots of Gwyneth’s friends from school. She had dance but made an appearance at the end….just enough time for a few snacks, a few funny faces and just the right amount of trouble.

hairspray

We went to see Hairspray Live at the Candlelight Theater. We’ve let the girls watch the movie, which is probably not the best parenting given the content, but we love the music. The live show was just as fun and luckily the more shady jokes went right over their heads. I’ll have some explaining to do some day about this show, but right now we’re just laughing that the mom is really a guy dressed as a lady with a rather big bottom!!
Such beautiful little ladies.
I love that they love to dress up and really turn up the volume when we go to the theater. The fancy clothes are not necessary but they make our outings feel more special.
The Candlelight Theater is a dinner theater which the girls love, but let’s say the food is not up to what we are use to with B cooking for us (ok, it kinda sucks). We indulge in fun beverages to make up for it. Today we had “Tracy’s Treats” which are basically Shirley Temples with lemonade. They weren’t disappointed.
I hope we always go to the theater together. I hope they like the shows. I hope it’s a memorable break from all the work and school and the schedules. I like it. I hope they do too.

freaky february friday

The girls had the day off school and it was so, so warm. We have had an unusually mild winter and the girls are taking advantage of all the sunshine. Annabelle’s friend Olivia came over to play. It was so nice out we splurged on slushies and a day at the park.

book fair volunteers

I do dumb things. I over-commit myself. The book fair is one of those things. It’s super long-hours, but my heavens, so many books, and my girls ,and their friends, and I freakin’ love it.
