waiting

With both my sisters and their girls in town for Thanksgiving, it was the perfect opportunity to visit Santa. Little did I know that everyone else had the same idea. The line actually wasn’t very long, but it was SLOW! They were having computer issues, so we waited in line for well over an hour. The girls actually did better than I did – I completely lost my patience and was ready to be done with it. Oh the joys of the holidays!
I did manage to snap some cute photos of the girls playing on the stairs while we waited…

pee a boo

Gwyneth Grace loves to play Peek-A-Boo! It’s her favorite game and she looks so darn cute I never pass up an opportunity to play it with her.
“Where’s GG?”
There she is!
Peek-A-Boo!
Each little Peek-A-Boo face is cuter than the last

meanest mommy

My friend, Catherine, who is expecting her first child in May, introduced me to the Meanest Mommy Website. This site keeps me cracking up and I check in on it often. I was out shopping with Annabelle after one our of big snows and was inspired to submit one of my Meyer Momma rules. Imagine my surprise and delight when I found I was guest rule #215! For one day I was the Meanest Mommy in the Whole Wide World and quite proud of it.

meeting eliana

Stacy, Carl, Maeva, and Eliana arrived from San Francisco this afternoon. I was so excited to meet my newest little niece. Eliana is just a month old and sweet as can be. She looks a lot like her dad. Annabelle and Gwyneth love having their cousins here and couldn’t get enough of the baby. Annabelle adores babies and Gwyneth is so happy to finally have some around who is younger than her!
Welcome sweet Eliana
Annabelle and Maeva call her Eli Hanna (like Benihana)
Gwyneth calls her Ellie
We played outside in the snow for a bit and then headed off to the Butterfly Pavilion. The big girls had a great time running around and chasing each other and the butterflies!  YaYa seemed to enjoy herself but she had her hands full!
YaYa doesn’t seem to mind the hand full, doesn’t seem to mind at all.
My sweet little Gwyneth tried so hard to keep up with big girls. She’s not far behind, but they are quick.
C’mon YaYa!
My girls just can’t get enough of Eliana!
Gwyneth thinks Auntie Stacy is hilarious, but little Annabelle was duped. She really thought her Auntie was going to let her hold her cousin. Oh the trickery! Oh the heartache!
The youngest of five girl cousins, Eliana is certainly going to have some fun with these girls!

better than santa

Christmas came a bit early at the Meyer house. YaYa gave the girls their gifts and they were in heaven! They received a new kitchen, lots of new fruits and vegetables and play food, a Dora tent and tunnel, videos, Little People nativity scene, and a few more toys and outfits that are to be saved until closer to the holidays. YaYa knows the girls all too well….

this is it

Sarah graciously offered to watch the girls so B and I could go to the Nuggets game. She joined us after work for dinner and then we had some time to play for a while before we had to head out. The girls just adore her!! They love playing with her, climbing on her, and enjoy every opportunity to see her. I love when Annabelle says “Sawah”. It’s so sweet. B and I are so lucky to have such great friends in Colorado who are always willing to hang out with us and our girls and are even willing to babysit on occassion!
I thought I had purchased the Nugs tickets on-line but apparently I didn’t complete the order. We were going to buy tickets at the door, but decided we didn’t really want to mess with it. Sarah encouraged us to still go out, so we decided to go see a movie instead. My mom had recommended I see This Is It and some friends had told us we had to see it in the theatre. It was fabulous!! So much better than I had anticipated. B and I are pretty big MJ music fans. It was a great compilation of his biggest hits. I’m glad we had the opportunity to see it at the theatre and I’m fairly certain we’ll buying this DVD.

student becomes master

Oh, how the tide has turned. The student has now become the master. For months Annabelle has been the boss, but tonight Gwyneth let her know who is now in charge….
No longer will the little sister sit back and take the abuse from her big sister. Gwyneth has proven she can hold her own. Look out Annabelle, things could get rough for you around here….
Apparently the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – we seem to have a problem with sitting on each other around here.  Some just do it more gently that others. By the look on B’s face, it appears they gave him a good jump on the ol’ tummy!
There’s no escape Dadda!
My turn! I get the added bonus of having the girls fix my hair. They love putting it in a ponytail but now that it’s shorter they have to work a little harder – which really just means more pain for me.
Running around in circles between dad’s legs is also another hilarous game!
I love Annabelle’s bright, beautiful, blue eyes! They are just like her Dadda’s – g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.!
I love Gwyneth’s squeezable, lovable cheeks. It’s impossible for me to see them and not just kiss ’em! Those are a Paz characteristic and she wears them so well.
We were disappointed we didn’t make it up to Breckenridge this weekend, but we had a nice, quiet family weekend at home.

meeting hanna

We dropped off dinner at the Lemek house and got to meet the adorable little Miss Hanna! She is such a sweet little baby and barely made a peep while we were there. Andrew is a great big brother and is very gentle with the baby. Jess and Don are doing great and their house seems surprisingly peaceful for having two little ones! Jess’ mom is in town and Miss GG just ran right over to her and gave her a big hug. GG wanted to cash in on some of that Grandma lovin’.
Hanna Maureen Lemek
Born November 12th, weighing 8 lbs 5 oz, measuring 18 inches
I didn’t think she looked at all like Andrew in person but in this picture you can see the resemblance.
Hanna and proud big brother, Andrew
Annabelle was so excited to meet Hanna. She loves babies!! (Notice the fairy costume – she loves that costume and it really just didn’t seem worth the effort to make her take it off before we left. I wonder if we’ll be those people at the grocery store and at restaurants in costume. I always thought it was odd when I saw that, but now I am definitely getting it!)
Now this looks like a fun crew!
Gwyneth, Annabelle, Hanna, and Andrew
Oh the fun we’re going to have with these kiddos!

Congrats again to Jess, Don, and Andrew! The baby girl clothes are being sorted and will be arriving momentarily. B couldn’t be happier!

gus and the babies

It’s no secret, Gus is a family favorite. We’ve been great friends for years but nowadays he’s got two even bigger fans in the house. Our girls adore him! Annabelle and I ran to the grocery store and when we got home she saw his car in the driveway and instantly started screaming “Gus, Gus, Gus!”. She was so excited to see him. Gus came over to watch the Bronco game and Gwyneth got to watch the first half with her Godfather without any Annabelle interuptions.
When Gwyneth went down for her nap, Annabelle covered Gus in babies! Luckily he seems to be getting use to all these little girls at our house.

saturday night fever

We had a very productive day of errands since we were unexpectedly home for the weekend. I have 99.9% of my Christmas shopping done!!! Hallelujah!!!
I found a great deal at Gymboree on Halloween Costumes. They were marked way down so I picked up a few for the girls to play dress-up. I got them for less than $5 and I’m already getting my money’s worth. Annabelle has been living in her new fairy costume!
We watched the Dr. Seuss movie “Horton Hears a Who” and Gwyneth got her dance-on!! My girls can rock. Gwyneth definitely has come up with her own new moves and cracks me up. The move below is my favorite which is a little hip-hop monkey move. It’s fabulous and also has some monkey sounds that accompany it. She’ll do it upon request so feel free to ask the next time you see her. She’s not shy!
Throw your hands in the air…
