daisy dog

Annabelle received all her treats from Girl Scout cookies sales at her meeting tonight. She sold A LOT of cookies and got a lot of fun little prizes. Her favorite was this little stuffed dog that has been appropriately named Daisy.

Their activity this evening was to pot flowers for Mother’s Day. This was my sweet gift:

The girls also created over 100 Mother’s Day cards for the local nursing home. It’s a wonderful project and Annabelle is really enjoying all the activities she participates in through Daisy’s.

door

We kicked off teacher appreciation week by decorating Annabelle’s teacher’s door. River’s mom came up with the design and did all the hard work. I simply helped with the watering can and rain drops. It was great to see all the petals the kids made and the smile on Mrs. Pries’ face. She’s been a such a wonderful teacher for Annabelle and we would be thrilled if Gwyneth had her next year.

home

It’s always hard to say goodbye to my family. We travel often and we see each other quite a bit, but the last day is always tough. Who can leave this without a little tear?

Please note the missing of my teenage niece Madison who now sleeps until mid afternoon and can no longer get out of bed in the morning to see her dear Auntie Kelly. I hope she’s reading this and feeling a little bad for  becoming a teenager on me….but she won’t feel bad and she probably shouldn’t because she’s a fabulous young lady and I love her and she is still pretty great to me.

happy birthday, lily

We celebrated Lily’s birthday at Nibbles Play Cafe. It was the cutest little place. Coffee and treats for the adults and several little play centers for the kids. It was absolute perfect for a year old party. All the kids had so much fun and there was even an appearance from Elmo. My girls were some of the oldest and of course they were the most freaked out by Elmo. Silly girls!
Lily looked to have a great time and again, I’m so glad we could be there to celebrate her special day with her.
Cousins!

I had to take this picture because of the giant baby bootie hanging over the booth. I find this odd decoration for a cafe and my girls agreed. They couldn’t stop laughing at the butt over the table.

Birthday Girl:

lily time

Due to fog in the midwest, it took us about 47 hours to get to Chicago. Not really, we were delayed about 3 hours, but I’m not really known for my patience. We finally arrived and got to celebrate Miss Lily’s 1st birthday with her. It’s always hard to believe how quickly the first year flies by and how much they grow and change. It’s hard living in a different state and not being able to see her as often as we’d like. She’s a super sassy, funny little lady and I’m so glad we got to celebrate with her.
The birthday girl

Balloon bouquet from Auntie Stacy

I was playing telephone with her. I was pretending to call her on my cell phone and she was pretending with her mom’s phone. Little did I know that she was actually calling YaYa. Oops!!

Sweet sisters

once upon a wine

Misti is one persuasive gal. I never, ever would have signed up for a Once  A Time Race. I also never would have made tutus. Or wore a tiara. Or embroidered personalized tshirts with our own wine titles. Ok, that last part isn’t true. I’ll personalize anything I can get my hands on.
Misti, Amy, Lisa and I are the Once Upon a Time team:
I couldn’t have asked for a better team. We had an absolute blast. We started a scavenger hunt around the city….let me stress that we started…we never quite finished. It was so fun to be downtown, running around with a bunch of other crazies, and being with such fabulous gals that I didn’t even care that I was wearing a tutu in public. I can’t wait to do it all again next year!
Lisa and the “Somewhere Ogre the Rainbow” team. Clever!
LOVE these girls!!
sweeping up the trash outside the art museum. love the dramatics.
winning us some koozies
mimosa anyone?
Our team! Fabulous!
So much glitter.
The girls enjoying a drink and a snack while the Bartenders work on our clues. I’m pretty sure this is cheating. I’m pretty sure we didn’t care.
Letting our creativity shine: “Kelly, Duchess of Merlot”, “Lisa, Countess of Chianti”, “Amy, Lady Riesling”, and “Misti, Princess of Pinot”
Cheers ladies! Sign me up for next year!

braid beauty

Gwyneth is still growing those pesky bangs out and we are coming up with some wonderful, princess-inspired hairdos to keep her hair out of her face. She has such thick fabulous hair. I love it.
She looked in the mirror at this ‘do and said “yes. this will do.” I can’t even make this stuff up.

She looks far too old without her bangs. I don’t like it. I want her to stay a baby. She strongly disagrees.

soccer star

Amy gave us the info for an amazing soccer club. Of course, Annabelle would have none of it, but Gwyneth was so excited to play soccer with Bella.  In case there is any question at all, my kid is the one practicing soccer stops in the tutu dress:

mornings

Welcome to my mornings!
Annabelle picks out all her clothes and has her own personal style. She also has her very own sass. Can’t you tell? Don’t be misled by this picture — she has a lot of sass, but she also has a mouth full of Barbie mouthwash.
Gwyneth had show and share today and took her Toto and Dorothy dolls. She is such a Wizard of Oz nut. I can’t wait to watch the new movie with her….when she is not a scaredy cat…maybe when she is 12?
