myseum

We checked out a new museum called Myseum. It’s a mix of bounce houses, slides, and science. The girls really enjoyed it. In fact they liked it so much, we played, went to lunch and then went back again. That’s a ringing endorsement from these gals.

We had a wonderfully relaxing evening at Poppy and Melissa’s. It was a great trip and fun end to our traveling this summer.

sculptures

We met the Merrill’s at the Benson Sculpture Garden in Loveland. The garden is on my bucket list for the summer, which I should note I have not been good at all about keeping up with. This summer really has just gotten away from me.

I digress, we met the Merrill’s and road the train, checked out the sculpture and played at the neighboring park. My girls are always so excited to see Ella, Ivy, and Braxton. They had a great time and Miss Annabelle lost her front tooth!!! It’s been hanging on for the past few days….really, just barely hanging on, dangling there, freaking us out (B and I are not fans of wiggly teeth – yuck). She bit in to a granola bar and out it popped. Finally! Woo hoo! Her other front tooth is wiggly also and I am hoping it will pop out just in time for 1st grade pictures. No front teeth = perfect for this age. Ella lost her first tooth when we were all at the Butterfly Pavilion a few years ago so once Gwyneth gets her first wiggly tooth we’ll get an outing with the Merrill’s on the calendar stat!

Jeez…how look how big these girls are getting! On the road to tweens….when does that officially happen?
this is may favorite sculpture!

goodbye, tooth!
looks like some things never change…

goodbye, grace

Today was Teddy Bear day at Fantasy Dance Camp. They made up routines using their stuffed animals. Oh my, what a joy for my girls!

Afterwards they had a playdate with Gwyneth’s little friend Grace. Sadly, Grace and her family are moving to Colorado Springs this weekend. We had to squeeze in one last playdate with her. They all play very well together and she will be greatly missed.

Of course this calls for a little dance party:

Gwyneth is very sad that her friend is moving. Luckily it’s just Colorado Springs so we can still visit her.

First day of Fantasy dance camp:

The girls are LOVING these dance camps this summer. They get to dress up, so naturally whats not to love? They come home with crafts and new dance routines.

so dramatic

We had our final playdate of the summer with the Johnson girls. It has been such a treat to be able to spend so much time with Emma and Rosie. My girls know every Tuesday is “Emma and Rosie Day”. They love it and look forward to it and are going to be very sad that it is coming to an end.

We’d had a lot of adventures together this summer. Today we ventured downtown to check out the Firefighers Museum. The girls had a blast dressing up, sliding down the poll, and making a fire escape plan. They play so well together, partner up, hold hands, and laugh together. They look out for each other and are very compassionate and caring. They have brought out the best in each other this summer and I’m very grateful for good friendships.

check out those clip on earrings….oh, this girl….

What a gang! They are so lucky to have each other.

Since we are wrapping up the summer, we HAD to stop for ice cream. The girls were thrilled and they were all over the place trying to figure out what they wanted. A sundae, a cone, a shake. Annabelle picked these little gems and they instantly agreed they all wanted the same thing. Made my life super easy and I appreciate the team work.

These pops made for bright red and blue mouths, but they were happy and that is good enough for me.

backward

Backwards day at school. Gwyneth picked her own clothes out and thought it would be hilarious to have a mustache on her back. She kept running in the bathroom to check herself out in the mirror. She had herself in tears she was laughing so hard. Such a silly girl.
Only two more days of school. WOW!

Annabelle was thrilled to spend the day with her friend Sofia. They are very sweet together. I eaves dropped a bit in the car and heard them talking about 1st grade. They are nervous to find out who their teachers will be and are so hopeful they will be in the same class again. Fingers crossed!

The girls spent the day at Big Time Jump and bounced out lots of energy.

The girls posed themselves and asked me to take their pictures. What little characters.

We picked Miss Gwyneth up and went bowling. Have to get in our free games before the end of the summer.

The girls did great. Miss Sofia won with an 104…yes, she beat me. Man, I’m terrible.

bridal shower for amy

Our dear friends, Tom and Amy are getting married in the fall and we hosted her bridal shower at our house today. It was a great party and such fun to celebrate with friends and Amy’s family.  We are very excited for the wedding — what a party that will be!!!

Take-aways

lemon blueberry cupcakes and vanilla bean cupcakes. the vanilla bean are a new creation and were very yummy!

The Chef!!
B catered the event and did a phenomenal job on the food. He food is very tasty and I’m always impressed with his plating!

These were super clever salads. They were deconstructed chicken ceasar salads that you rolled up and ate with your hands. I LOVE these.

We played “Pass The Bling” which was basically hot potato with a giant pink diamond. The little girls had a blast with this game.

The girlies! Annabelle, Bella, and Gwyneth. Super adorable and quite troublesome, but we think they are awfully funny.

The girls found the chocolate fountain and let’s just say they were not very sneaky…

Jenn provided all the treats for the chocolate fountain and the girls were drawn to it. It was literally like a forced field of chocolate sucking them in and they could not walk away. I am certain there was A LOT of chocolate and marshmallows and strawberries eaten and there was quite a bit of double dipping done as well.
Time for more games and presents

Amy the fabulous bride.

poms 2

We are in official countdown mode for Gwyneth’s last day of kinder camp (otherwise known as daycare). She has THREE days left. THREE! And the this little gal is taking a short break and then heading to kindergarten. KINDERGARTEN!

Today is the last day of pom pom camp. Annabelle had a blast and keeps on dancing and showing us the new skills that she has learned.  She’s very confident and has a huge smile when she is dancing.

And not one to be left out, Gwyneth showed off her skills too. Notice Annabelle sulking in the corner…oh, these girls!

poms

day 1 of pom pom camp:
Annabelle came home dancing and singing the song “Mickey”. I was kind of surprised that we didn’t already own it, but we purchased it quickly on iTunes. She loves pom poms and has been dancing all around the house today.

Kristen took Annabelle bowling this afternoon. She spent the day with Emma, Rosie and Sophie and bowled an 83 with no ramps. Woo hoo! She has such a good time with Kristen and her girls. I can hardly believe our playdates are coming to an end as school will be starting soon. We’re going to have to make a special effort to ensure we still get together often and don’t go through Johnson family withdrawal.

Tonight is my last night of tutoring our neighbor in Accounting. It has been an interesting experience and I’m relieved to find that I’ve retained those skills even though I have not been using them in my job. My transition back to the finance world this fall should not be quite as traumatic as I had expected. Let the job search begin… (I’m still doing embroidery, just part time as the orders roll in).

proto

The girls performed their Vacation Bible School song at church today. Annabelle was front and center while Gwyneth shyly hid in the back. What’s interesting is that Gwyneth was actually much more in to VBS and begged to go. She told us all about the bible lessons, but the music comes on and Annabelle is ready to perform. These girls always find a way to surprise me.

We had lunch at Protos Pizza….which apparently is better than all other pizza that tastes like dirty socks.

The girls had front row center seats for pizza making and were very impressed.

We are committed to swim lessons. They make our Sundays crazy but the girls are learning a lot so here we go….

Francesca and her mom invited the girls over for dinner and ice cream sundaes. They were thrilled!! It’s usually a challenge to get them out of the pool, but tonight they showered quickly and ran home to meet their buddy.

belated

The Johnson’s invited us over for dinner to celebrate my birthday. How kind is that?! Kristen let me choose my birthday cake and I chose Boston Crème. Wowza!! Kristen can bake.  We had a delicious dinner, the kids play fabulously well together (they spend at least two to three days a week together and still beg for more!), they sang to me and the girls helped me blow out my candles, I limited myself to one piece of cake (not easy!), and Kristen and Darron taught us a new card game. I can’t ask for anything more. Very grateful!!

B tested his skills at the watermelon basket. very fun!
B also made homemade hummus. I don’t like hummus usually. I don’t like it at restaurants and I don’t like it store bought. This hummus was fabulous — absolutely amazing. I’m hooked. That B can cook.

The only thing that compares to birthday cake with fab family and friends is birthday cake for breakfast. Don’t mind if I do….
