tyson

Tyson’s family joined us for football Sunday. Chuck, Tyson’s dad is from Michigan so it was only fitting we watched the Lions/Bears game. Tyson’s two younger brothers and mom joined us too — until about half time when the younger boys had to go home for a nap.
Tyson is one of the truly sweetest boys. He is full of energy but he is very kind. Annabelle has the best time with him and and he always makes sure to include Gwyneth too.
Annabelle gave Tyson her pin from her breakfast with Goofy at Disneyland (totally obscure and perhaps a bit odd choice of gifts?). Monday morning he had it pinned to her shirt at the bus stop. I tell ya, these two are going to be a lot of fun to watch grow up together.

After the football game Annabelle and I made our very first batch of Rice Krispy treats. She really enjoys helping in the kitchen.

Doesn’t she look cute???? Good thing, because those rice krispies were no treat. They were pretty bad. Hard as a rock. We dumped that batch right in the trash.

popsicles

We had zero planned for tonight. Absolutely nothing. It was wonderful. I felt like the girls just walked in circles and we all just stared at each other not quite sure what to do with ourselves. I always get anxious if I’m not busy doing something. I think that can be a bit contagious.
We went for a walk, watched the sunset, ate popsicles and just relaxed. It was good to slow down.

chefs

We joined some Greg and his family and some friends for dinner tonight. Greg is a chef and his wife is a pretty amazing cook as well. What’s a girl to do????

Make mustache cupcakes. The girls and I made these after school and they were so excited. They are loving the mustache craze. Thanks Poppy!

Wow!

We hit the Wow! Museum after school today and had it almost to ourselves for two hours. There were two other families there so the kids got the run of the place.
This is one of my favorite museums. It’s crafty and the girls get to dance and be creative.

The current traveling exhibit is about story books. The books were as big as the girls. I thought it was amazing. The girls were not nearly as impressed.

Gwyneth practicing her yoga. They do yoga in her kindergarten class every day. When we’re getting too wild she will tell us to “take deep breaths. Find your core”. Whatever kid, whatever.

broncos

Lance and Sheila got season tickets to the Broncos this year. They have four tickets and usually take their boys. We got super lucky because the Broncos played the Raiders on a school night and the Tyler’s asked us to go. Woot Woot!!

I was a little stressed about getting downtown for the game, but we caught the bus and it was SOOOO MUCH FUN!!! I can’t tell you how much fun we had with Lance and Sheila. We were stomping our feet, we were cheering, we watched the Broncos win!

I like football and always say “oh, I like to watch, but I don’t want to go to the games. I like to watch from the comfort of my own home”. LIES!! All, lies! Going to the game was awesome! Thanks Lance and Sheila for taking us!

free pizza

We got home and were so excited to see YaYa and the girls! Our little ladies were super wound up and wild….they are always wild, but our absence really brings out the insanity in them. We were starving and decided to head to Rock Bottom. B doesn’t like it, but he was kind and went with the flow. The girls really enjoy making their own pizza.

The girls made pizza and then we waited…. and then we waited some more. We waited for appetizers. And then we waited a lot longer for drinks. And then we waited and waited and waited for drink refills. And then I may have lost my mind because I get VERY grouchy when I’m hungry. After B kindly talked to our waitress….and then we waited more…. and then he talked to the manager…and then we waited and waited and waited and then we finally got our food. And mine was TERRIBLE and we didn’t even complain and the manager covered our entire tab. So, that’s how you get free pizza.

casey and joe

Casey and Joe got married at the High Concept Laboratories in Chicago. Casey is B’s cousin and we met Joe almost 10 years ago when we lived in Chicago. They are a great couple, hilarious and kind and had the perfect wedding that suited their personalities. Their vows were fabulous and sweet.

There were so many Meyer’s there. B has so many aunts and uncles and cousins. It was a sea of Meyer’s. It was great to see them and meet the newbie’s. We had a blast!

Congrats Casey and Joe!

dry

According to the news we got 17 inches of rain in 7 minutes.  What the what?!? We had quite the flood on our street but we survived and the sun is now shining again. Gotta love Colorado!

flood

So much flippin’ rain!!! We didn’t get it nearly as bad as Boulder, but it was definitely wet at our house. Our street quickly turned into a stream, our window well sprouted a leak, and our basement started getting very, very wet.

I posted a quick note on facebook asking for some help and within seconds we had so many calls and texts from friends and family and so many of our neighbors rushed to our house to help stop the flooding.

Like I said, our basement got a little wet but we are far better of that others in the area. It takes a little rain to realize that my husband is very handy and not afraid to get messy — or should I say a  little wet — to take care of us. AND we are blessed with wonderful friends, family, and neighbors!

A little rain doesn’t bother these girls

The disgusting mess that is our basement
He’ll be getting a tetanus shot after this!!
The road by our house that is now a river

happy birthday, jocelyn

Jocelyn hosted a carnival themed birthday for her cousins. It was really very sweet. They played lots of games including a sack race.

Happy birthday, Jocelyn! This is her last birthday in Colorado as they are moving to Wisconsin next month. They will be very missed!
