boo

We got “BOOED”!

We arrived home from dancing school to find a boo basket on the front porch. It was full of crafts and coloring books and plenty of fall fun. The girls loved it. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to run out and boo someone else. We booed a family in our neighborhood from my MOMS club and also Annabelle’s friend Tyson. It is suppose to be a secret, but Gwyneth told Tyson it was us as soon as she got on the bus the next morning. No secret keeping around here!

fall book fair

I got recruited to run the book fair for the school this year. I love books and it’s fun to see all the kids. It was a pretty big endeavor but we pulled it off. It was about 10 – 12 hours of commitment for 4 days. The girls spent a lot of time at the library with me. I also received a lot of help from friends and of course, B. I learned a lot this time around, raised over $13K for the school and I’m already preparing for the spring fair!

The librarians gave me this gorgeous flower arrangement. So nice!

get well soon

Annabelle’s 1st grade teacher had surgery last week. She was out for two days and had the weekend to recuperate. I’m the room parent for the class so we organized flowers, a gift card, and a wonderful welcome back card from the kids. All the parents were so generous!

giselle

The girls and I have season tickets to the ballet during football season. We have a lovely girls day at the ballet while B has a quiet house for the Broncos game. We like to watach with him most of the time, but the ballet is a nice excuse to get dressed up and girlie!

This was our first outing of the season. The show was Giselle, which was wonderful but a bit dark and sad. The lead, falls in love and dies of a broken heart. The second half her “ghost” dances from her grave and the man who wronged her is punished to dance until he dies. Phew! That’s a little much for the girls to digest. The show and costumes were brilliant.

Have you ever seen so much sparkle???
When these dresses hit the sunlight we looked like a scene from Twilight!

wisconsin bound

B’s sister, Chriss and her family are moving to Wisconsin. Jen hosted a family going away party for them. It was also the day before Jen’s birthday.  The girls and I made lots of treats including chocolate cupcakes and a lemon lollipop cake. We also hammered out some jewelry for the aunts.

happy birthday, hannah

Hannah is fourteen. My oh my how the time flies. We spent the evening at Brandon’s house celebrating her birthday and seeing lots of familiar faces. Brandon has such a wonderful family and they are always so kind to us. There were also about ten or so fourteen year olds there. Oh my, it was an eye opener to see what we have to look forward to…

Birthday present for Hannah:
B and Heath. It’s been years since we’ve since this guy. He’s as funny as ever!

witches

I helped Annabelle with her homework tonight and she added the not so tiny heart to dot her “i”. So sassy, so girly, so flippin’ Annabelle. (When I was her age, and probably a few years beyond, I cursed my parents for not spelling my name Kelli so I could dot my “i” with a heart. I suppose it’s never too late….be on alert for that legal name change in the near future).

My book club pick for this month is The Witches by Roald Dahl. I remember loving that book when I was a kid and thought it would be  wonderful to share it with my girls. I AM SUCH AN IDIOT! I have no idea what would possess me to start reading this to them. We made it through the first few paragraphs and I thought it was hilarious, brilliant, and so, so enjoyable.

The girls were terrified! They didn’t find the humor in it at all. They are now on the look out for witches. They couldn’t/wouldn’t go to sleep. Annabelle built a little bed on the floor because she was terrified there were witches under the bed.

pineapple pizza

The girls and I have dinner on our own Mon, Tues, and Wed. I’m not much of a chef so we keep it very, very simple. Gwyneth is obsessed with pineapple pizza a the moment so we’re making our own at home. Its quite popular and will be on our weekly menu.

Gwyneth, the little rock star provided some musical entertainment while I prepared dinner. BTW, how fab are these boots? She looks like a little country rocker. I love it.
Pizza time. Annabelle skips the pineapple and go straight for the pepperoni:

It’s pineapple pizza time!!! I tried to cut them up and she wouldn’t have it. She loves, loves, loves pineapple.

hammered

My friend, Senneca taught me how to make hammered jewelry. I clearly need one more hobby. I love all things personalized and I absolutely love this new little craft. It’s a bit easier to do than I thought and with a few coupons I was able to buy some supplies pretty reasonably. I’ve been needing a break from the embroidery so perhaps I’ll start adding these to my shop:

Gwyneth had to ditch dancing school tonight and head to the doctor. She has had a rash and it just wasn’t getting any better. We went a while ago for the same thing and they said there was nothing they could do. We got the same answer today. It’s a virus and there is nothing they can do.

Annabelle finding a potty book quite hilarious.
The little girl with a rash, but doesn’t seem to sad about it.
