curls

Oh my heavens, another outbreak of lice at the girls’ school. We received an email that lice is going around again. This is the 2nd time this year. UGH!!!

I checked, checked, checked, and then checked their hair again. So far so good but I really don’t want to take chances. I told them they both had to wear buns to school, but Gwyneth convinced me to give her some fancy braids and Annabelle wanted “Madison” curls.

The Johnsons invited us over for dinner tonight and we asked if we could bring dessert. The girls and I baked pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I’ve got two pretty fabulous little bakers on the payroll…

Delicious!!

first meeting

Tonight was our first Daisy meeting. I was pretty nervous — all those five years old and Amy on her honeymoon. Several of the other moms pitched in to help and the girls took it easy on us. Honestly, they seemed to have a great time. Gwyneth has really found her nitch. These are her little ladies and she is so happy with her troop. I’m so, so glad she has this group and such kind little friends. Now, hurry back from your honeymoon Amy!!

mermaid lunch

The girls had the day off school for Veterans Day but B had to work. I gave them lots of ideas for the day: museums, parks, library, etc. They decided on lunch with the mermaids. I was disappointed that we couldn’t spend the day together as a family but the girls were so sweet and kind and we had a really special girlie day.

The girls do love their mermaids!

happy birthday, easton

We celebrated Easton’s 5th birthday at Monkey Business. Easton is the son of a friend of mine from my MOMs Club and sadly she they are relocating to Arkansas. Today was our last hoorah before they head out of town. It was a great opportunity for us to celebrate with them and to say our goodbyes. We wish them well and they will be missed!

happy birthday, hanna

Don hosted Hanna’s fourth birthday bash at My Gym. How wonderful, sweet and smart Miss Hanna is and what a fabulous little girl she has grown to be. I’m so glad we were able to celebrate with her.

Her birthday parties are always so bitter sweet. We love to celebrate but it always tugs at my heart that Jess is not with us. Over three years she’s been gone and she has missed so much. I couldn’t talk about Jess for a long time. I was overwhelmed. Sometimes with sadness and sometimes with anger. It’s fun to hear stories about Jess and share our happy memories, but I still miss her and I still feel sad.

The kids had a great time celebrating Hanna’s birthday with her. They jumped, they tumbled, they laughed, they ate cupcakes. The party was a huge success.

wedding

Congratulations Conley Family! What a wedding.
We gathered with fabulous friends and lost our minds.

The ceremony was intimate and beautiful and there was so much love and sweetness with the kids. And I managed not to flub my lines except I did get a bit teary when I actual made eye contact with Amy and Tom. What was I thinking? The gave me a reading from Les Miserables to read and it was very touching…way too sweet to actually look at the bride and groom! Lesson learned. They made very sweet gifts to include Bella and Brayden into their family and they exchanged vows. It was a great ceremony.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better…..the reception! Honestly, we lost of our minds. We feasted, we danced……and then we dance, danced, danced. I can’t remember the last time we all had so much fun together. Gwyneth even did the robot. The night was complete!

B rockin’ his Bazinga socks which even had capes!

How fabulous is this picture of the bride????

turkey trike

Gwyneth participated in her first ever Turkey Trike. She joined several friends from my MOMs Club to collect donations for Toys For Tots. It was really windy, but she held on to her bike and rode for 30 minutes. I’m very proud of her for participating.

How cute is this little guy? He’s my friend Natalie’s son and he is so stinkin’ adorable.

table cards

On the nights Annabelle has Daisy’s, it’s just me and Gwyneth. B works really late, I drop Annabelle and her friend off at Daisy’s and her friends’ mom brings her mom. We have about 2 hours of just Mommy and Gwyneth time.  Tonight we finished homework, did our reading and then Gwyneth requested an episode of American Funniest Home Videos. We snuggled up on the couch and laughed and laughed. Gwyneth has the best sense of humor — or should I say she has mine and B’s sense of humor which is probably trouble.

Amy swung by tonight and picked up the embroidered bags for her wedding and the table cards. Can’t wait to see them on the table at the wedding. Just a three more days to go…

theater

We went with Gus & Misti to see Book of Mormon. I was really excited to go because it’s been talked up so much. I had a great time with my peeps, but I gotta admit I didn’t think the show lived up to the all hype. Probably because I have quite a few Mormon friends and I felt quite disrespectful going.

I did have a great, great time with B and the Donaldsons. We went to a 2:00 matinee and then went home and ordered pizza and played games. We ended the night with headbands, which is quite ridiculous and I’m not very good at it, but we had lots of laughs.
