Amy and Tom bought a new house and spent all day Friday unpacking. We picked Bella and Brayden up after school and they joined us for a pizza and movie night. We watched Despicable Me 2 and the girls were so glad to have their friends over.

oreo
National Oreo Day!
What a wonderful excuse to eat cookies. The girls and I had fun being crafty together and made treat bags for their classmates.
After school we joined friends at the park to sample a wide variety of cookies. There were so many different varieties and it was such a fun excuse to eat cookies and play. My favorites were the oreo cookies with rice crispy treats. Yeah, that happened and it was flippin’ fabulous!
fat tuesday
We are big fans of Fat Tuesday. We love New Orleans and all the delicious foods. B whipped together a fabulous gumbo and the most delicious beignets. We are so spoiled!
We had 150 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to donate. Thanks to everyone who helped our girls reach their goals and for being so generous. Our original plan was to donate all the cookies to the local food bank, but there were just SO many. We delivered many boxes to the food bank and then shared the wealth with two fire stations and two police stations. The girls brought a lot of smiles to many local heroes.
dr seuss
Celebration of Dr Seuss’ birthday at school is one of my fav’s. I love Seuss books. I love the repetition and the rhymes and the clever poetry and fanciful characters. My girls have always loved hearing them and now Miss Annabelle has started reading them herself.
Annabelle’s most Dr Seuss-ish shirt.
Gwyneth came home with this fab hat she made at school and some equally fabulous Seussical faces.
Reading my favorite: Green Eggs and Ham
steak n shake
hat day
lollipop day
For $1 the girls can buy a sucker after school from the student council. Exciting, yes? So provoking that we need to be up at 4:45 to get ready for school? Heck NO!!! Annabelle woke up the entire house. It might be an understatement to say that she has a sweet tooth.
This is the earliest she has been up, but Annabelle’s bedtime definitely needs to be pushed back. She been going to bed at 7:30 so it’s time to push it back a bit. Our girls need A LOT of sleep, but we might just go crazy and let this girl stay up until 8:00 now. WHAT?!?!? Yep, we’re wild around here.
cupcakes
girls all dolled up for picture day at school :
I volunteered in Gwyneth’s class today. I helped at picture time and got to see them do their science experiment.
Gwyneth’s two bottom teeth grew in before the baby ones fell out. The baby ones have been very, very wiggly. Just hanging on. Tonight I talked her into letting me pull it. I reached in, grabbed it, and it just fell out. No tugging required. I did gag a little bit…I really don’t wiggly teeth….they give me the he-bee-gee-bee’s. There was a little blood, but Gwyneth handled it like a pro.
Gwyneth’s daisy troop met at our house. We have been in Girl Scout overload lately. These cookies…my goodness, the cookies. We are done with sales, done with cookie booths, done, done, done. Thank you to everyone who supported our girls. We’ll be eating Thin Mints ’til Christmas!
Tonight we did some cupcake baking and played games. There was so much laughing. I adore these girls and tonight was another great meeting. It is exhausting keeping them on task, entertained, stimulated, and attempting to teach them a lesson in one hour. I feel like it takes about two weeks to plan the hour long meeting, we sweat and pant our way through, and then I’m worn out afterwards. It’s good for my soul and I’ll keep it up as long as Gwyneth enjoys it.
movie night
We had a super lazy day which is rare and wonderful. We went to the grocery store which we also realized we never ever do as a family or even with the girls. They seemed like country bumpkins heading in to the big city. Bright lights and there are even big ol’ refrigerators that keep milk cold and big ol’ freezers for the ice cream. Well, I’ll be! Something tells me we need to let these children out a bit more….
B whipped together this little snack for us for movie night. Yum, yum, yum….
I think we liked it….
Then we settled in for a movie night. We watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. It sounds like it was really funny. Or so I was told. I fell asleep about 15 minutes into the show. Best movie night ever!
lazy, lazy day
Annabelle is really exploring her fashion sense these days. Oh my!
rosie
I picked up the Johnson girls so Kristen could pack for their Disney trip. We have passes for the Butterfly Pavilion so we all the girls had a opportunity to hold Rosie. Now how much more hilarious could this playdate get than Rosie holding Rosie (the tarantula). The girls were in tears laughing so hard. It’s the little things in life really….
After the butterflies, the girls played at our house for a while, had dinner, got cozy in their pj’s and sleeping bags, and had a movie night watching American Tail. They play wonderfully together. Lots of laughing, lots of kindness.
While the girls watched the movie, B made dinner for the adults. We enjoyed rack of lamb, risotto, and green beans. It was delicious. Really top notch. Of course, Kristen brought homemade bread too. I’m very spoiled with the chef and baker in my life!
