nuggets

Missi invited Lisa, Amy and me for a fun night at the Nuggets game. It was crazy empty. Where were all the fans? It’s kind of sad. We had a fun ladies night out and of course I kept it classy….the pinky up drinking a Coors Light keeps it classy? Or is it the straw?

Fun times! Thanks for the tickets , Missi and the good times, gals!

fool’s day

I am not a fan of April Fool’s Day, but I live in a house of jokers.
They love it and can’t get enough of tricking people.
After school I pick the girls up from the bus stop and we have a lovely walk and chat on the way home. I stop at the stocked fridge in the garage to grab a diet Dr Pepper to get my afternoon dose of caffeine before tackling homework. I’m giving you background here people…pay attention.
Today, Gwyneth in her sweet little voice and her big green eyes, smiled at me and so kindly said “I’ll get it for you”. Ok? Thanks? She came running in the house “We’re out of diet pepper!!!” I gasped. Oh crap! She exclaimed “April Fool’s!”. Bazinga. She got me. She is her father’s daughter and I may have a bit of addiction to diet Dr Pepper.
Annabelle had Daisy’s tonight and came home with lots of little zingers for us. Oye!

While Annabelle was away, B and Gwyneth came up with an elaborate plan to host a party. They would make beautiful invitations and on each invitation they would put a different location. They would mail them to all Gwyneth’s friends and family. On the big day everyone would show up to different locations and they would be sitting home comfy on the couch watching Frozen.

Be weary of these two. Pure EVIL!

Annabelle came home from Daisy’s with a glamours face sticker? tattoo? I’m not exactly sure. It was crystals and some type of temporary glue and although I had hoped it would come off in the bath or in her sleep, NOPE it survived and had to be worn to school the next day.

The girls at school LOVED it but a boy on the bus told her it looked stupid. Ahhh, first grade….

spring break: girls day

We really “girled” up our Saturday while B was in Breck. We headed down South and of course hit Steak N Shake (yeah, kids eat free all weekend). Annabelle made me super proud by ordering a cup of chili which has always been my favorite item on the menu. Naturally, she loved it.
We headed to the American Girl store and we found some great deals.
The snowboard was on sale for 50% off and the tent was on sale for 70% off. The girls scored!
Gwyneth really, really wants this car. Unless it’s on sale for 90% off it’s never going to happen. The car is $350 and that’s how much B paid for his first car! This is a family joke, but you can’t blame the girl for loving this fabulous little gem.
Did we have a gift certificate to burn at Build A Bear? Why yes, yes we did! I tell ya, I’m a bit obsessed with the coupons and gift cards….maybe I’ll become one of those extreme couponers?!?!
Gwyneth made Sparkles the bunny and Annabelle made Lamby the…well, lamb.

spring break: disney on ice

We joined Aunt Jen, Ryan, and Reagan for Disney on Ice at the Coliseum. The girls had a great time, but Gwyneth was not entirely pleased. It was a 100 years of Disney and it highlighted the history rather than focus on just one character.
Gwyneth’s biggest gripes:
– Not enough Belle
– Not enough Snow White
– No FROZEN!
Gwyneth is a super sweet girl and very appreciative of everything. When she got her snow cone she gave me a hug and when we sat down in our seats she said “thank you for bringing me”. When we got to the car after the show she looked very sad and said “thank you for taking me. That was not the best!”. Then she went on a 15 minute tirade about how in the world they could possibly have a Disney show and not have any Frozen characters. It was on ice for goodness sakes. Well, you can’t really argue with that logic!
We promised YaYa that when Frozen arrives on Broadway we will meet her there with all the cousins. Hopefully its sooner than later. Although, Gwyneth is as sweet as can be she has an amazing memory and that promise will not soon be forgetting!
Annabelle and Reagan’s bling
Ryan too cool for family pictures

spring break: mermaids

B went up to Breckenridge for a weekend with his friends, so the girls and I made a girlie weekend of it. Our first stop was Friday lunch with the mermaids. They each had a friend join us and were very sweet. It was super crowded at the aquarium today which makes me really nervous about summer plans with the girls….

spring break: monkey biz

Free passes at Monkey Business!
Unfortunately we had the same idea as nearly everyone else on Spring break. It was so crowded! The girls were able to play with some friends and they didn’t seem to mind the insanity. We joined friends for pizza afterwards (coupon for free pizza???? yes indeed!). It was so nice we were able to sit outside and enjoy the Colorado sunshine. Afterwards we joined 3 other families for a  park day and the girls had an absolutely blast playing with friends from school. Another fun filled Spring Break day!

spring break: butterflies and roller skates

My goal was to have a near FREE Spring Break. I gathered a bunch of coupons and set out to plan the most inexpensive but fun activities. We have a membership to the Butterfly Pavilion so we jumped at the invitation to meet friends for the morning.

Mackenzie is 4 and I love this picture of her looking up at Annabelle:
She really likes my girls. So cute!
A butterfly landed right on Jack’s head.

Next stop library! We spent lots and lots of lots of time there.  The girls brought in their notepads to make their “to read” lists. I couldn’t be more proud.

Then we went for the free afternoon of roller skating for their school. Annabelle saw a friend from her class and instantly got embarrassed and spent most of the time trying not to fall down on the carpet area. It was a little boy from her class if that explains it…

Gwyneth on the other hand was fearless and wore herself out. She gets going pretty fast these days and has requested skates for her birthday.

Can’t keep this girl down:

B made dinner for us at home and then we all went for ice scream. With a coupon you ask? Yes, yes indeed. The entire day cost us less than $10 and it was jam filled with fun!

spring break: frozen

We arrived home this morning just in time for the girls to host a Frozen party for their friends. PJ’s were required and they enjoyed pizza and popcorn and a few M&Ms.
The girls know all the words to the songs and most of the dialogue. There was plenty of laughing and singing and dancing!

Yep, this would be “Let It Go”.

spring break: vail

We took a little day trip up to Vail. Had lunch, played in the snow and on the playground and added to our spring break of relaxation.
We got back to the house in Breck and the girls posed Olaf for pictures:
Another dip in the hot tub. These girls are obsessed.
View from the hot tub. Not too shabby:
The patio off our room. Probably not the safest way to walk down the stairs!
More coloring:
More fun in the snow:
More sass:

spring break: breck v2

We headed in to town for the day and visited the Ice Castles. The girls got lollipops and we played in the snow. After dinner we snuggled in by the fire and watched a movie. “Big” was on television and is rated PG and B and I both remember loving that movie. The girls enjoyed it too and it started out pretty tame, but warning there is a big ol’ “F-bomb” and another naughty word and a few shady scenes. The piano scene was a hit and the girls don’t seem too traumatized…although we’ll have to go back and watch those movies from our childhoods a little more closely before allowing the girls to preview them. Lesson learned.
