annabelle time

Annabelle’s girl scout troop was scheduled to go on a camp out for the weekend. We had an odd week of weather and the site got 24 inches of snow dumped on it. I had a free hotel room at the Westin and we decided to take advantage and spend a night away together.
I asked her to plan it and she knew exactly what she wanted to do. We watched new Diary of A Wimpy Kid movie, played games at Dave and Busters, swam at the hotel pool and had tacos for dinner at Kochina. The next morning we wrapped up our time with breakfast in bed and another swim.
It was really great to have this one on one time with Annabelle. She is growing up so quickly and it was nice to hear what is going on in that little nine year old head of hers. She loves to talk and she is fully of stories. I hope she doesn’t lose that.
Someone seems happy to have a bed all to herself…
The gorgeous view from our hotel room.

She is very interested in photography these days. I’m teaching her what I know, which I admit isn’t much, so she will quickly pass me with her skills. I love sharing this hobby with her though!

We agreed to skip dinner there because the food is not very good, but the games make us happy!

Annabelle was very kind and got her sister a prize too!
Gwyneth loved her “Kevin” Banana Minion
Annabelle couldn’t have been happier with her giant emoji pillow

Time to head to dinner and then for a swim.

After the swim Annabelle was pretty hungry but we didn’t want to mess with the hotel restaurant. We ran over to Target and got some smoothies. She loves the Green Machine (yuck! I’m not a fan).

We finished our weekend off with breakfast in bed. Annabelle isn’t much of a breakfast person but she does like her cereal and smoothies.

I feel very fortunate to be this girl’s mom. She makes me laugh and I truly adore her.
