bedrooms

The girls wanted to redecorate their bedrooms and I suppose it was time. Gwyneth had those ladybugs since she was a newborn. I know she’s outgrown them, but I sure will miss them.
They each picked out their own theme and bedding and I helped them with paint and decorations. I told some friends about their bedroom makeovers and I received an email from our neighborhood magazine asking for pictures of both. They are both pretty excited and can’t wait for their rooms to be “famous”.
Gwyneth asked for rainbow bedding and Wizard of Oz decorations. We didn’t go overboard with the theme and I think it turned out great for her. Grown up….just enough.
A special rainbow frame with a special pictures of her cousins.
I think she likes it.

We had this storage unit in the basement and it’s perfect for her trinkets, toys, and American Girl dolls. We even added another personal touch with a sparkling ruby frame with a picture of her little feet in her ruby slippers.

We searched online for pictures to go along with her Wizard of Theme. We didn’t find anything we loved. Let me tell ya, that Gwyneth is quite particular. I gave it a shot and made these two pictures for her in Photoshop. She loved them — phew!

An accent picture on her nightstand of her trip to see the Wizard of Oz with Annabelle and Yaya

This is one of my favorites. A friend took this picture and I added the wording in Photoshop. It’s such a precious picture and a perfect reminder of how strong this little girl can be. I adore it.

Special spot for her doll to sleep right beside her

Gwyneth’s godmother gave her this rocking chair when she was born. The wood color didn’t fit with the room so a friend painted it for her. Gwyneth absolutely adores it. It’s very special to her. I can’t imagine a room better suited for Miss G.

Annabelle’s room went from ballerinas to Hollywood! She is very much on trend with the greys and I love the pop of red. She picked out the pictures and pillows at Ikea and asked for the red accent wall to match Marilyn’s lips and the heart on the telephones on the pillows.

Her room feels very grown up. Very mature. Very tween. Very Annabelle.

We couldn’t find a breakfast at Tiffany’s picture that we loved so I made her one in Photoshop to hang over her desk.

She found these pillows at Ikea and loved them.  What’s funny is that I don’t think she’s ever used a fun like that…except maybe at Graceland. They are adorable and suit her perfectly.

Just a little touch of sass for Miss Annabelle.
I think they both got rooms that reflect their personalities. I can’t wait to surprise them when they make their magazine debut.
