happy christmas

Merry Christmas!
Santa was good to us. Very good. The girls slept in until 7, which was quite a lovely surprise. We headed down to the basement to find new stuffed animals, lots of packages under the tree, and snuggled in for the morning.
The girls received new American Girl dolls, lots of crafts and books, and seemed thrilled with all their new gifts. It was a quiet Christmas and we were grateful for a peaceful, loving day.
Although we never got out of our pajamas, the American Girls got their outfits changed at least 10 times.  We watched “Father of the Bride” a gift Annabelle received from Santa. It was a family favorite. B made tons of food for us and we spent the entire day grazing. The girls got a hold of my camera and took tons of pictures. I adore this family of mine. There’s no one I would rather eat deviled eggs, drink hot schnocholates (thats hot chocolate and peppermint schnaps), and stay in my pjs with all day long!
It was a difficult year with B’s mom gone. She was passionate about Christmas. Christmas dinner was always at her house. She brought everyone together. We snuggled a little closer and there was an unspoken sadness. It has been trying year for B and his family. We try to hug him a little tighter, and hope we make his days a little easier, because we love him so very much.
Happiest Christmas from our home to yours!
